People forget that Dan is a professional musician & a lover of Blues (His Blues Brothers act is inspired by his love of it) Soul, R&B and Hip-Hop. Shock G even said in an interview that Dan was actually a fan of Digital Underground and personally asked them to appear in the movie and do the soundtrack

I used to love this scene so much as a kid 🥰, I thought the movie was terrifying!! This brought in such an awesome break from the weirdness. Also seeing G Shock/Humpty, 2Pac and then Dan Akyroyd on the piano is just hilarious and great.

This movie was so funny...Dan Akroid played several roles...classic comedic genius at that time! I was floored and delighted when Digital Underground was caught and subjected to perform for the judge! I sat on the edge of my seat waiting for the fate of DU by the judges decision! I loved the subtle social justice message in this scene. The rich white banker gets the book thrown at him while the black musicians get pardoned. Awesome!

To be fair, its "social justice message" is explained in the movie. That bankers fucked over the the judges family back in the 1800s, leading to Valkenvania as how its seen in the movie and giving him a hatred for them, which is why he's holding Chevy Chase's character.

Dogg Pound,Snoop, and Dre are all alive. If Pac didn't align himself with the street aspect of the label ,stomping out Orlando Anderson in the casino(bc an affiliate said he snatched his chain in a mall at an earlier time),he would not have been shot that night which resulted in his death. Still today such a sad tragedy bc how gifted he was as a musician and actor and what happened that night could of been avoided

such a great spoof movie. You get a Peckerhead on the Judge and John Candy doing split roles. Moore gets to play a goofy role, Chevy being his typical a-hole stuff. But the gags were many and the good.
