All of you are awesome. Even tho some of what you do on the farm might not be your favorite job you always manage to see the brighter side of things. Having said that you also manage to try to somewhat enjoy it and make the best of it. All of you are a true inspiration for several others. The videos are always awesome to watch even when DougO' is riding the struggle bus at times. Thanks for sharing your videos. 🚜🚜🚜

I do dirt work for a living and it all started when I was young and lived on a farm. It's the smell of fresh worked dirt. Farmers and dirt workers get addicted to it and it's darn near impossible to get over it.

Put some holes in the burner cover and when you go to remove it hook a cable or lite chain to it and have a way to pull it through without climbing in there. The storing of the chain/cable can be off to the side during heating operations.

put a line of grommets on the burner cover and you can drag ropes thru as you blow it out. Attach on other side to cover and just pull it over from other side saving the need to climb thru again

Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable. Lots of work after harvest. And you have clean up after the bin site repairs. I used to enjoy tile and dirt work myself. Tiling is so important to the farm ground. Be careful with that power lift. Those things can get dangerous pretty darn quick. Be careful guys. My compliments to Larsons for the work they do to improve the farm ground. You are really good at it. Cleaning out a dryer is no fun. Dirty job it is. You are doing all kinds of jobs right now. That time of year. All for now. You all take care and be safe. Looking forward to the next video. Thanks for everything. The Iowa farm boy.

A lot of farmers did things like this some 40-50 years ago, and was left with fields full of clay. I have no idea what your soil layers look like, but make sure you don´t decrease your area of top soil...

Crazy idea, Larson crew. Can you use unused rings to expand one of your existing bins and add capacity?
@45Deere9500
@45Deere9500 Жыл бұрын
They possibly could, but also it might not be possible/ practical. The gauge of the metal in a bin is larger at the top and smaller at the bottom, i.e. thinner at top and thicker at the bottom. Where the added rings would go to make the bin taller, would depend on the gauge of the good bin sheets that are left. If the thickness of these sheets dictates they need to go in the middle of the bin height wise, that is much more work than if they could be added to the bottom. Overall, the bin would need to be evaluated to see if it would withstand the new stress of the extra grain, as well. It’s possible that this could be overcome by adding stiffeners, if there aren’t any already, but they don’t always solve the issue. Bin sheets are rolled for a specific diameter bin. Based on what I’ve seen of their grain system, it appears they only have the one other bin of that diameter, which the bin crew repaired using parts of the bin they tore down. I’d imagine some thought was given to making the remaining bin taller, using rings from the torn down bin, and for some reason(s) it was decided against doing so.
@randykovalenko1236

All their bins fill from the leg with spouts or cross augers so any bin modifications would also involve re engineering the fill systems.

To run the tile rip line you run the dozer track over one side of the rip then jump to the other some once the first side is done. Then run over the entire rip line down the center and that will close it. That’s how we do it when we plow underground utility’s in

Alot of farmers don't realize grain storage is the money maker in farming! It might be 3 bucks a bushel when you put it in there and a few months later it could be 5. Plus you save on docking fees from the elevator. So when you have a few million bushel storage like they do there's possibilities to make extra millions or hundreds of thousands of dollars

@@randydev1020 The rental companies don't make money by renting equipment for less than the cost of ownership. If you rent on a long term, you are buying the machine without the benefit of owning it at the end of the contract. As a business, you may be able to write off the cost against the profits. Depending on where you are, there are not always units available at short notice for a day or week. The company I worked for owned one and in that setting, the lift had to be inspected annually. When it needed some work, the company management decided not to repair it and rather to rent, "as needed". When there was a breakdown that OSHA safety regulations required a manlift to access, none of the rental companies had any units available. They were forced to hire a company that had a manlift available to come in to do the job.
