Some amazing reasons to be a firefighter are to protect life and property, the will to be ready 24/7 to help someone out knowing the risks and putting your life on the line, the will to always be there and save a life. Next year, I go active. My reason to do it is because it's something I know I'm going to enjoy from the time I start, till the day I die, and If I die in the line of duty, I'll be proud because I died helping other people and I had a good time doing the job.

The best reason to become a firefighter are for lives you may save and change I have had the opportunity to help save some lives as an ems cadet and now I’m in college for firefighting and I myself have saved a couple of people if you want to be a firefighter go for it it is a very rewarding career field

Im active next year, the reason I chose it is because I've been around a firehouse for 2 years, It seems like a great job to have paid and volunteer, and Im going it because Im going to enjoy it. I also love helping people who are in need of help such as in search and rescue, or just a friend of mine who has something they want to get out of their mind. So I think it's not being known as a hero, but for doing the right thing putting your life on the line for others paid or volunteer.

LinkinParkPianoMan any firefighter, paid or volunteer (as I do both) would tell you, if you do it for the money or status, you shouldn't be in the fire service. no real firefighter would look for money or fame doing their job, they do it out of love and respect for their neighbors to help them in their time of need when they can't help themselves.
