To get 'slightly' off topic and I hope I am not offending you. I always got a problem with the "old sould"-mentality. It's rather simple why. It's a rather traditional way of interpreting skill and that skill is only achieved by experience and more importantly age. Often enough skillful people get belittle by someone older. You can see that sometimes in chess for example, when it is by some people even assumed that it can't be learned by children (it can be learned and they adapt the rules and tactics quickly and due to them being "untainted" by traditions, their "out of the box" thinking they tend to surprised older, more experienced players.) Long story short: a skill can come from almost anywhere, both hard work and pure genetic luck. Miss Baran here, I would assume was a kid who had always fun singing and never stopped. Which would give here ~10 to ~13 years of experience (at video release, now it's obviously 3 years more). Childrens curiosity is a precious thing and easily be cracked by an overambitious environment (this includes parents and extended family) or an unsupportative environment (it can be argued that both is the same, that 'oversupporting' your kid is just like not supporting it.). That's why so little people can sing or play an instrument, draw decently or other 'artistic' stuff. These are skills we chased as kids, but most people at some point stop chasing these. Some sadly because they are overcompetetive and just see how others are "better". Ignoring that even though skills can be a natural boon but still require simple exercise. It's just easier for some, yet it's never impossible. Thing is, the ideology behind that phrase is very much disrespectful actually. Like 'She's so young, that talent couldn't simply come from her, there must be more behind it.'. Need to get that off, so hope you're not offended. Anyway stay save and imprtantly during this time: stay healthy.
