Remember that scene when he said how does it feel to lose Emma and shinichiro!.He said that metaphorically and it makes sense since the one brutal truth that many dont accept is that Izana is the embodiment of what Mikey becomes in the future! And we know that since Mikey is physically OP but mentally NEEDS people and Izana is EXACTLY the same as mikey however izana is stubborn and jealous as he had no one from the beginning except those two thus causing him to lose himself, become empty and fall into darkness just like future Mikey but earlier. So in a nutshell, Izana is future Mikey before future Mikey if that even makes sense....

It’s understandable if you don’t feel any sympathy towards Izana but even as a manga reader seeing his flashbacks hit me in the feels… and I love how the anime added those scenes with kakucho in those flashbacks… and Mikey is a better man than most, putting aside everything to still want to save his big brother Izana.. and of course Kisaki has to come in again with the gun.
