Tom Kennedy is probably the most versatile bass player on the Planet right now !!! Superb bass sound to match his virtuosity !!!!
@anthonyscaletta51853 жыл бұрын
not to make a big thing about it because i love kennedy to death since his days with bill connors BUT u need to listen to alain caron THEN tell me who is more versatile..its all good..just play is my motto..who's a better drummer..weckl or chambers..WOW

Oh , I have extensively with Uzeb ! Phenomenal bassist , who also turned into teaching ! Uzeb were out of this world & Frank Gambale puts Alain Caron in his top 3 bass players ! ...
@anthonyscaletta51853 жыл бұрын
Many great bass players out there! Different styles and techniques but all good..from Jeff Berlin to Marcus Miller. Versatility to me is cats like Will Lee and the session players who play everything thrown at them..Janek gwizdala may play fast solos but that's it! Get what I mean...

Kennedy is a virtuoso accompanist and soloist, and does it all with beautiful tone, not to mention gracious humility. He and Anthony Jackson are rare jazz bassists who not only play brilliantly, but always make fretted bass guitars sound as sweet as the upright doghouse that's everyone's reference point.

@honuman393 жыл бұрын
@@kcorpora1 lol any drummer is going to have their strengths and limitations so your argument isn't that valid. At the level he plays at it's mostly down to preference. Of course there's better players for metal, reggae, whatever who are specialists but then the same argument you're using applies to them. He's the smoothest player I've ever heard and his kit always sounds great.

@@kcorpora1 Like every other drummer on the planet. lol There is no best drummer or musician on the planet. EXCEPT Joseph Alessi. He is known as the greatest trombone player in the history of the instrument, coming from Lorin Maazel's people.

@@weiminhuang2797 He is amazing. He can hold his own with these pros, and has a great career ahead of him. He obviously doesn't need any stomp boxes! I knew Richard Elliot when he was a kid playing in clubs in the 70's. Besides his sax, he always had his old style Echoplex with him. He was pretty awesome, even back then. We all knew that he would go places. Good luck to this kid!

Great playing, but I have to say that it took a lot of patience to get through the guitar solo/solos at the beginning. Everytime he walked over toward his chair, I thought, ok here we go, and then he would step on another pedal, and he we go again. I persevered and made it through the video and was impressed with the performance despite the guitar overindulgence. Just my opinion of this tune after a first listen.
