Well tbh would it make that much of a difference? For these videos and on paper sure, but in real usage? Long ago scratches were a pretty big concern. But putting Gorilla Glass on phones basically fixed that. With a perfectly clean screen holding it in the perfect position I can make out 2 super tiny scratches after 4 years. And I'm not super careful trying to prevent that stuff. No screen protector. My old Oneplus One has a slightly larger scratch but even that is only visible when searching for it from pretty weird angles.

I bought a Galaxy S10 the day it came out and after years of heavy use I still have the original plastic screen protector on it, working well. A tiny bubble started to form in the upper right corner which I haven't been able to get out, but since it's past the bend it rarely annoys. I might buy a Nothing phone as a backup in case my Samsung unexpectedly dies, given that it does hold some important data that can't just be backed up to a computer, and I do need to stay reachable.

@@alirgam8847 I would say so, yes. Doesn't come with all the fancy megapixel numbers, but when taking photos in RAW format you're getting really good photos. Unfortunately Samsung has always had a problem with their conversion to jpeg, because they apply sharpening and color filters that make details look unnatural on closer inspection. If you save the photos as RAW you can either edit them with a good RAW editor, or you can just immediately convert them to JPEG as they are and you'll have nice jpegs.

His Samsung, just a year old is struggling with god knows what sort of lag and also the lack of storage due to 64 Gigs is affecting my dad's work and all. Nothing seems to be rather interesting, and most importantly the end user experience is very clean, simple and easy to use. Also specs are great, so is the build and design. I am glad this phone launched at such a great time, I mean this is just the perfect midrange Android for elders which is unique and value for money, obviously below the iPhone and Pixel.

Hey Zack, will you please change the lighter test for a water resistance test? I feel like we’re more likely to experience water damage than fire and that would be a better durability test in general.

The fire test is to see what kind of screen it is
@kevindellatore
@kevindellatore 2 жыл бұрын
Well, if a phone fails a water test it’s completely broken. If it “fails” a fire test the screen can be replaced and most often he phone can still be used with the mark

I'd expect sapphire on the front screen seeing as they want you to use the back for notifications but if you want to use that feature the front needs to be face down and if you so happen to have sand around your screen is ruined you don't tend to care so much about the back as you never use it to view stuff

bind test? or bend test?
@kevindellatore
@kevindellatore 2 жыл бұрын
It’s a good idea, but to a certain extent it would be pointless. It’s not testing how much force is required, it’s testing if the average person is gonna end up bending it by accident in their pants or something. If he can’t intentionally bend it while putting force into it, it’s fine in your back pocket.

I usually watch these, as I am now, on my Note 10+. I really can't think of a phone worth upgrading to. I had thought it would be a foldable, but those really aren't there yet. As it is, I'm kinda enjoying the cheap phone bills now that I'm not paying for the hardware.

Galaxy Note 9 here, which I got for free (or very cheap, can't remember)... basically have no reason to upgrade at this point. Only area it's lacking in is the camera quality, and battery is starting to show its age a little.

A good way to think of not upgrading for now is that Zack is also using a Note 10 since it still works fine... not sure if it's the Plus model tho.

Bought a Flip 3 after seeing Zacks video ~9 months ago (showing surprising durability and also it's waterproof), I am really happy with it, the only real compromise is the battery, but I hadn't had it go from 100 to 0 in less than a full day so it's completely fine. Just recently the screen protector started getting off at the hinge, just like Linus had with his fold, but I think they replace them at samsung center? I'm happy with it regardless, can't recomend more, it's so compact

It would be interesting to know if the wholeback glass is glued to the phone, or there is a hollow space between the phone and the glass. Also (if there is a gap) what happens when pressure is applied.

I 'love' how they found space for hundreds of (tiny, but still) LEDs, but were still unable (or rather, unwilling) to fit a single headphone jack into the phone. With all the empty space on the top, too. Hard pass for me! I simply won't buy a phone without a headphone jack. Sure, I get that BT speakers are cool. But I still use wired ones too, and I enjoy having more options, rather than less.

The nothing ear phone 1 is surprisingly a decent good looking phone as the back of it displays some strips of light to be indicated when picked up or charging to see what level they are at. The cameras are similar to iPhone 12 as well and the two options of black and white are a good fit
