LYRICS 🥀🖤🥀 Nothing that has happened so far has been anything we could control I am just here waiting for the perfect time to tell you I don't know Maybe I'm just reading into it a little deeper than I should We would make it easy, we would take it slowly, if only we could [Spoken Interlude] Hey, what are you doing out here? You're thinking about everything, aren't you? I know it’s crazy, just don't think of it like that. Nothing has to mean anything. Come on, come back inside [Verse] Elodie, look at me, unless you're tryin' to hurt me Heavy blow, down I go, now I just want to let go Is it right? Is it wrong? I don't know It's not the cause I'm fightin' for anymore, it sucks to keep on runnin' Eventually, there will be a time for clearer thinking For now, I weep, can't get to sleep, I try to hold a good feeling I just get one, here it comes, there it goes Now we just might lose the fight, yeah, but it's alright, it wasn't our decision [Chorus] Nothing that has happened so far has been anything we could control I am just here waiting for the perfect time to tell you what I know Every man is happy until happiness is suddenly a goal I'll just be here waiting 'til the doctor calls and then I'll let you know

Does anyone know where the spoken interlude is from?
@judyp38012 жыл бұрын
@@NangDoofer yes! Kevin Parker told NME about the spoken-word part that is beamed in as the music fades on this track. "Oh, that's my girlfriend," he said. "It was scripted, yeah. It's meant to be the sound of someone suddenly leaving a venue, like one of those scenes in a movie where someone's having a hard time and they go outside to stare at the stars. And one of the other characters comes outside and says, 'Hey man, what's going on? What are you doing outside, are you alright? Are you thinking about everything? So they're trying to comfort the person. It's just that scene… I love it." New Musical Express (NME) is a British music, film, gaming, and culture website[1] and brand. Founded as a newspaper in 1952, with the publication being referred to as a 'rock inkie',[2][3][4][5][6][7] the NME would become a magazine that ended up as a free publication, before becoming an online brand which includes its website and radio stations.[8][9][10] As a 'rock inkie', it was the first British newspaper to include a singles chart, in the edition of 14 November 1952. In the 1970s, it became the best-selling British music newspaper. From 1972 to 1976, it was particularly associated with gonzo journalism[citation needed] then became closely associated with punk rock through the writings of Julie Burchill, Paul Morley, and Tony Parsons. It started as a music newspaper, and gradually moved toward a magazine format during the 1980s and 1990s, changing from newsprint in 1998. WIKIPEDIA I've worked in the music industry for almost 40 years, and am a college trained musician and music journalist, music magazine managing editor - which i launched with my best friend, This rag (NME) was one the top subscriptions in the music industry along with FMQ - Friday morning quarter back, Rolling Stone etc. The use of gonzo journalism is a valuable tool to get your two cents across while also relaying facts. In gonzo journalism, the reporter, rather than being detached, helps to add value and personality to the story through the first-person narration.

This entire album brings me lots of good and bad memories back to my head everytime I hear it. Trust me, drugs are not the way to scrape daily life struggle, they are made just to make you delusional and loose entire perception of what's really going on around you. Stop poisoning yourself, your body is not only yours, it belongs to everyone that really loves you and and cares about what happens to you; be strong and get your shit done, even if it hurts otherwise you'll feel miserable for a big period of time.

Even if you think noone really loves you or cares about you, you're mistaken, and in that sense you are perhaps losing the dignity of being, a human being. Please stay with us, we can all help each other, need to put ourselves out there, we can be a source of joy to the world and that returns to you, like a boomerang.
@lostecho4394 Жыл бұрын
"Drugs" is way too broad of a category to say that about. Some drugs are amazing medicines, and almost all of them have good uses. Psychedelics, for example, show some of the best rates of treatment for addiction, PTSD, depression, and other mental health issues out of anything that exists. Even fentynl has medical use as a painkiller. The issue isn't generally the drugs themselves, but instead people's individual relationship to them.

Nothing That Has Happened So Far Has Been Anything We Could Control is a good way to describe the feeling of falling in love...

I love how the innerspeaker guitar makes a subtle but dope cameo in the middle of the song

Kevin Parker will never know but this song has changed my life. I found comfort and understanding in this track during times when nothing and no one else offered it. I've moved on by now but I still get brought back mentally while listening to this, it's bittersweet. Wish nothing but the best for tame impala, his music is actually stellar. One of the most timeless discographies I've ever had the chance to listen to ❤️
