Poor guy. You shouldn't have to feel worthy to have a friend. You shouldn't have to proove worth to have someone. But I guess it worked in his favor. I just hope people talking to him now don't only talk to him now because he's a star
@emiliaholmgren37023 жыл бұрын
So relatable for people like me who suffer from social anxiety. It really describes the feeling you get when you are with your classmates or just a group of people but still feel lonely, weird and like an outsider because you have social anxiety and people think you are creepy because you aren't as social comfortable as the others..
@jv52043 жыл бұрын
yea, how i’m feeling right now. it feels like i have no connection with people. i’m so socially awkward and anxious. it sucks because i have no friends but then again when i do have a chance to make friends i chose not to. even tho it would be nice to have friends. i feel better off alone
@Daniel_2433 жыл бұрын
@@jv5204 Same as me. I had some opportunities a year or two ago to make some friends that looking back I think I would've gotten on really well with. But I chose not to because I was so anxious and now I regret it because I've been incredibly lonely for about a year and a half. I don't know about you but I know I'll never be truly happy with no friends and being by myself.

I've always had anxiety talking to people, even with family. Though I've significantly improved with being more present in conversations, that anxiety never goes away. This song easily takes me back to middle school, high school, and college. What I remember most was having this sense of envy that I couldn't converse as openly like most people. They seemed more relaxed and happy. I don't feel me like nearly as often now. Tame Impala captured that feeling well. Much appreciated 👍

For a while I thought this song was about being abandoned by people you were once close to and coping with that fact; hence “try to pretend that none of it happened.” I mean when you’re abandoned especially out of nowhere of course you’re going to think “why won’t they talk to me.” I guess I interpreted this song that way cause I’ve been there. I’ve been rejected, I’ve been ghosted, I’ve been abandoned. Turns out this song is about being a social outcast, which in of itself is righteous to feel sad about. Being lonely sucks, we are humans, social beings after all.
@Yatzari06 ай бұрын
I never thought about the song that way but I found it so fascinating how you interpreted the song based on your experiences! I always thought about the song as just feeling so alone. And the lines “try to pretend none of it happened” as a bad day, which in itself reminded me I never grew up with friends.

@mikeexits4 жыл бұрын
Man, what's up with some girls being so psychotic? It's like they dehumanize you in their minds and don't feel bad for absolutely destroying you emotionally. I had to comfort my best friend who was tripping balls on mushrooms when he got kicked out of his ex's house (he was visiting our state for vacation and staying with her) and broken up with over text (she convinced him he did something horribly wrong when he didn't) and he full-on sobbed/bawled for at least 2 hours, like scream-crying. I couldn't get a single complete sentence out of him for the whole time, it was honestly scary. I mean that's bad, but some of them take it way too far by trying to destroy their ex's entire life somehow. I've seen more than enough pictures of someone's apartment completely trashed up by their ex-girlfriend. Sometimes it genuinely makes me want to stay single forever.
