That is cool. I wrote a letter to the people who live in my moms childhood home in Chicago. I just asked for some pictures of the house cause they put a second story on the house....thought it would be cool to show my mom....that was 2 years ago.. aint heard a word from them. We all live in Texas now...so not like we can just go knock on their door.

In 1977 my Dad built the very first house that my family lived in and the place where I grew up in the 80s --- we all moved out of it in 1989 and the house has been up for sale a few times since then but I never had an itch to buy it --- I have memories of all the good times and bad times in there and don't need to revisit the place

Yea, that's cool. My current house has 2 previous owners and we know both of them. It was the party house back in the 80s. I recognized a mural painted on the entryway before I bought the house. A while after I bought it, I was working on my car in the garage and the first owner stopped by to show his grandkid their old house. We talked for at least an hour. He thought it was funny that I was at their "infamous" party when a local band played and the cops showed up. The second owner was an older lady. She wanted to see her rose bushes before going into assisted living. She was very happy to know that we loved her rose bushes as much as she did. lol She gave us full instructions on how to care for them. She ended up living in a facility close by and we gave her a few prime roses from her bushes every year until she passed. Our house has no special history but it is kinda cool to know that history.

@Jax Teller --- hey look, I grew up as a teen in the 80's and was a true Ratt-N-Roller! I got older and realized Pearcy is not in the same "rock god" pantheon as Robert Plant and Mick Jagger and Freddie Mercury --- but he made a big impact on my youth and his music got me through some tough times and also celebrated the good times, too --- so I say FUCK YA if you don't give Stephen his proper due in rock history!

So, we went to school together. The summer after ninth grade we planned to hit the road together with a drag racer from Bay Park - IRRC he ran a fuel altered and Stephen was his neighbor. Stephen and I would be gofers - go get this or that, and wipe down tires after burnouts. But then Stephen had an accident and was hosipitalized in traction for broken legs. We kinda lost touch. Later, I remember his band playing at keg parties at Carmel Valley, but I didn't think threy were all that good. There were a lot of good local bands in San Diego County at the time. Who knew he would hit the big time!

A lot of people associate ratt and a lot of other bands from the time with a negative connotation of “glam rock”. The truth is the dedication and musicianship Of these bands are unmatched today. Back when you actually had to grind through the clubs and pass out demos to get noticed. When you had to navigate the minefield of the music industry. Back when you had to go on a year and a half long tour then cut an album that was equal the last. Robin and warren are one of the most well accomplish guitar duo’s in history. And Steven was one hell of a talented front man. So cool to see this trip down memory lane. Keep on rockin!

Very very cool video! It was very touching when he said a prayer in the room where his parents passed away. He seems very at peace with it knowing that they are at peace. Love seeing the house where it all started for him! You can tell he was absolutely thrilled by being there and seeing it all again. Take care of yourself Stephen! Hang in there!

Awesome video! I was in my early 20’s when Ratt came on the scene. I loved them! Lack of Communication, to this day, is still one of my favorite rock songs.

Great little bio on the "voice of Ratt".Stephen seemed to project an aloof personality throughout his career, but on this he seemed grounded and more down to earth. Time has a way of doing that but Ratt was one of the premier bands throughout the 80's. Glad to see him doing well and not ending up another "rock casualty".🤟Ratt & Roll on dude.

Well said. I thought exactly the same. Sometimes it takes the passage of time to humble people.

Yeah I agree about Stephen's personality in the 80's --- always struck me as aloof or arrogant, esp. in that '85 "behind the scenes" video they released --- he didnt have the outgoing party personality of other rock gods like David Lee Roth and Vince Neil ---- but I guess he's always been the shy loner type but he does seem quite humble now

Ratt and all the members will always be my favorite 80s band regardless of with who and where they are playing now. Stephens latest 2 releases are Killer!

In a genre where many lead vocalists sound alike....Stephen's voice shines....gritty and unique. His writing is equally as punishing.

I met him in a bar once. He was doing a show. There were only like 50 people in the whole place. He said he was gonna rock it just like he would if there were thousands. And he did! Awesome guy!

I was a big Ratt fan in the 80’s. I still have a lot of early Ratt songs in my playlist. So sorry to see that Stephen is now homeless and psycobabbling to complete strangers and referencing houses he’s never seen before. I really hope things get better. Love you Stephen!!!
