I ride an NC750X DCT in the UK. What a phenomenal bike it is. Unbelievable economy (regularly get 85mpg) comfy, excellent for filtering through the traffic (legal here in the UK) and as reliable as any bike I've ever owned. Love the DCT which makes it oh so easy to ride. I use this to commute over sixty miles a day, and save my 'Busa for the weekend. Cannot recommend this machine highly enough....

Great review, subscribed to your channel. I fell so much in love with these NC bikes that I now own two, a 2013 NC700S, with now 91000km and a 2014 NC750S with roughly 19000 km. Both of them are manual clutch transmissions. One of the reasons I own two is that I dedicate myself to do all the maintenance, and so if things take a little longer I still have transport which is vital for me. By the way the 91000km bike is still on the first clutch. Reliability and easy maintenance combined with great practicality make these bikes great companions that won't let you down. Safe rides and travels 👍🏍

Returning rider here. I have the S (manual) version. Great bike Honda made, and affordable. You don't really feel the weight, and handling is superb. It's not a racer, just remember that. I'm taller than you, but ergonomics are still ok for me. I would recommend getting a new saddle, stock saddle is not comfy. I get a lower mpg, but I do ride a bit more sporty than an average commuter does.

Really good review. I’m looking at this bike because of the DCT. I lost my left leg while deployed to Iraq and can’t fine a way to ride a spotter sport bike shifting with my prosthetic foot. I’m looking at the X and S and probably the 2019 when it comes out. The only other bike I think I want would be an electric for obvious reasons, no shifting. Thanks again!

Ride on...😁

Great video! Have the same and my wife in red. After a herniated disc, my left leg is numb, and every time I touch something with my foot, it feels disgusting, and the foot has a high and low head, which makes switching on a "normal" motorcycle rather problematic. Since the concept of Honda came just right! What you may have forgotten: If you are in the "S", so to speak in sports mode, there are also three modes. Ie. You go from D to S, then you are in sports mode, when you then press the button on S slightly longer neck, he jumps in level II, again holding level III. The three levels are also shown in the display. Next to the S is a triangle in which three bars light up one after another, depending on the level.

NothingToProve: this is how the bike is - very close to my experience. I had the 2018 NC750X DCT. (Upgraded to the F850GS after this one) I have to say that when Im currently stuck in serious traffic - slow / fast moving all the time I really really miss this bike. Yes the 850gs has a quickshifter but its not useable going from 3-2-1-2-3 - its very jerky. Doing 20km on the freeway needing those gears 90% of the time is really hard on your wrist. Then the cubby/frunk it has is actually amazing - You will miss it afterwards. Now I need to keep a backpack with me on rides when its empty - you never know when you gonna need it. I did 23 000km on this bike in a year and my fuel economy ave for the time is 3,4l/100km - best was 3.0l/100km. The bike might be a bit heavy in the beginning but its a slim bike - fits through the smallest gaps. I did a few 400-500km breakfast rides on it and never had an issue of feeling cramped - Im 175cm. If you can ride a smaller bike or been riding a bike for a few months then this is perfect as an upgrade. I had the 390duke for about 10months as my first bike and then got this one - amazing. www.fuelly.com/motorcycle/honda/nc750x_dct/2018/574sharkbait574

Tolles Video! Was du evtl. vergessen hast: Wenn du im "S" , also quasi im Sportmodus bist, es dort auch drei Modi gibt. D. h.

@NothingToProve

Hi James, I was actually surprised as to how easy this bike was to ride. It gives you a choice, 3 ways to shift gears: automatic or semi-automatic or even manual: meaning paddle shifters on the left handle bar controls. You choose and even when it's in automatic mode if you press the up or down paddle, it will take your input and do it. I am still today really impressed as to how well this DCT worked. It was kind of like anticipating the next gear you want and is just waiting for you to press the paddle and then it says: "ok, no problem, done"...no waiting at all, just done. If I had to sum this bike up in one word = "easy." Ride safe, Scott

Well I did a test ride with this Honda having high hopes for my commuter life and was disappointed in so many aspects .. dct was clunky and loud, suspension ok only for very good rodes - as soon as anything else in the way it is really hard. Dynamics miserable. Wind protection poor. Dash board in the sun hard to see. The only good thing I believe is consumption and it looks also appealing. But of course See 4 yourself - perhaps different for you.

anastasme , I have the NC700x DCT from 2013 , I agree with the suspension, it's a bit on the hard side, but I did get a tall windshield for Usa $80 , perfect, there's multiple levels of screen brightness on the LCD, I do sense the shifts, but just barely, in sport mode it's a bit more noticeable because it lets the revs go up more, but far from irritating to me. I liked this bike so much I bought the Africa Twin DCT which is a 1000cc s of automatic fun with suspension that glides over anything and you feel like you're in an arm chair.

this was the fourth time I have enjoyed watching yr video., definitely 'two thumbs up'. I have had my 2014 DCT version for 2 years now. I love it of most as I find riding it more comfortable with my bad back, and now does not cause me strain changing gears up with my foot. I like my earlier model as it has the break pedal not all integrated on the handlebars like yr 2018 model you had shown and same set-up I test rode before buying mine. As I always ride mine in automatic, by using the manual changer would this be more suitable for riding in the wet and winter conditions as I don't get on with the automatic changing down of gears going into a corner as l found it safer on my manual bikes to feed the clutch out 'when I was ready'. I find I drive more apprehensively in corners and take more necessary time to negotiate the turn cause of this.

There are lots of bikes out there which are fun but don't rev to the moon. Think Moto Guzzi 750, Harley Sportster and such, bikes with big engines and much torque down low. I'd say it's a long-stroke cruiser engine, not high-revving like most bikes these days. I was always interested in a street bike with a cruiser engine, best of both worlds.

Great reviews you do Scott. Keep up the good work! Looking to buy a Honda NC750 DCT and this video convinced me totally! Only the decision to buy an S or X is doing my head in

I have the same problem, can't decide between the two. Which one did you get?

@@oanaochia5458 I went for the X. A little more windprotection.

@@johardy870 thanks for replying. I am also more keen on getting the x, but I am not sure how the weight and height difference feels for me. I guess I'll have to wait for the lockdown to pass and convince myself then

My 2019 MT09 has been getting 45 mph. And, it seems like my break-in point came at 1500 miles. The bike seems faster now and I even did my first wheelie without trying in 2nd gear.
