Always learning some additional things with your video Matthias. I also love this update even if I recognize some limitations (sync with Gcal, properties not displayed in Notion Calendar, no "Repeat" feature just to name a few of them). But still, I'm super excited about this update and I love to have this calendar unified view. It rocks! 😀

Thank you for uploading Matthias, I always wait for your take on Notions features because you always go in-depth and take a practical approach (that actually applies in day-to-day use cases). To this day, I still use your setup for Make+Notion 2-way sync between separate databases for granular sharing. I can't overstate how much of a game-changer that was to me -- especially after the tip you offered when you replied my message after a hit a roadblock. THANK YOU once again man 🙌

Thank you so much for your kind words - I really appreciate it! Just super happy to hear that all of this is actually helpful 😇 Would love to know if there’s anything in particular you’d love to see next?
@g.o20928 ай бұрын
@@mfreihaendig Yes please, actually an update to the granular sharing. I'd like to a setup a situation(scenario) where relations can be created with 2-way sync incorporated ----- For instance, consider the following use-case: #1. I have a Project Database (PROJECTS DB-1) with its relevant tasks (from TASKS DB-1) assigned to a project. #2. Obviously, Project DB-1 is related to Task DB-1 #3. I want to sync PROJECTS DB-1 with PROJECTS DB-2 and also sync their relationship #4. Following your instructions from the last video, I initially just synced my TASKS DB-1 with TASKS DB-2, then for "related Project", I settled with syncing it as a "Text" property. #5. The issue comes when I need to share with a client. It's a bit weird when I have to specifically filter for the precise name of the Project in order to share with the client (i.e. If "Related Project" contains "[insert project name]" #6. If there's any edit to the name of the Project, then the whole filter will need to be updated. All of this is resolved by using relations. Kindly let me know if I'm clear enough, if not I could email you a screen-recording. I didn't want to touch my scenario's for fear of ruining what I already learned from you haha Take care Matthias

The perfect timing of Notion Calendar! Exactly WHEN I needed it, one thing I have noticed is that if you have a task with sub-tasks, and I choose to show only unchecked things on the calendar. If I have some sub-tasks checked, none of them are visible on the Notion Calendar.

Hi, Matthias. Do you have any commentary on the amount of access Notion requires to make this integration? It wants the ability to see all contacts and also ability to delete, edit, contacts, and CALENDARS. Uh...why does it need all that? Nobody is addressing that in any of the videos. I 'd really like to know what you think.
@mfreihaendig7 ай бұрын
That’s the standard access scope required to manage your calendar for you. Since Notion calendar is a full service calendar that allows you to send invites, add participants, change and create events, it requires all these access rights for your Google calendar. Otherwise it couldn’t do any of that. It’s in line with other third-party calendar apps, so nothing unusual

No you can’t create events with calendar only features like recurring and then have it as a Notion entry. You can create new Notion entries through calendar, but there you’re limited to name and date and the two things that you can set 💪🏻
