I've always loved perennial potentillas since I first saw them. And that entire time I've been wondering "can this be used for bonsai?". When I was in California I saw a really beautiful potentilla in the garden of Peter Tea, who did an apprenticeship at Aichi-en, so I'm now convinced that there's more work to be done to explore this species. Keep experimenting!

Hello Adam, great video! I would like to ask you, if you are planing to do sort of "tour" video, where you possibly show all of your trees at the moment? Or at least the most interest ones? I like your style and i would like to see more of your trees. Thank you and wish you all the best!

Nice video ! I have 2 Potentillas, just bought this Spring, I did the first styling already and now I let them grow out (I pruned them back quite hard during the first styling). Both have made a lot of back buds and the canopy is looking green so I think they're in good health, I hope they stay that way 🤞

Adam, you must have been reading my posts on Bonsai UK. I had been asking about Potentilla as bonsai and received some great photos, what beautifully aged trunks these trees produce and in such a relatively short time too. Abbotswood is a particularly good variety as a starting point.

Hi Adam, I was wondering, when you made those polymer clay pots did you seal them before using them? Kim🍁🇨🇦

Hey Kim! There is no need to seal them as after they are cooked in the oven they become waterproof! 🤗

Awesome thanks you! Your so great at getting bad to me. I have another question for you. I bought my third cotoneaster because I killed the first two. I have no idea what I did wrong but it dropped all its leaves and died. Any suggestions on caring for this plant? Kim🍁🇨🇦

The best time to prune I have found is during the summer. It's important to make sure that the tree is healthy before chopping at it though! Hope this helps!
