From someone who has watched every play from Ohio state since 97. They completely changed the defensive strategy after the first Oregon game, and it’s worked for the most part in every game since then. Chip Kelly had a pretty good thing going with a rush first offense until Josh Simmons went down in the Oregon game. He tried to force the run and it wasn’t working, then the end of the Penn State game with a goal line stand and 11 straight running plays to run off the final 5 minutes, made a lot of us think he fixed the line, then Seth McLaughlin went down, and it took getting beat by Michigan for him to mix up the line and become a team that passes to open up the run against Tennessee and Oregon. They’ve only played two games with the offense and defense both executing as well as they have all season. Knowles and Kelly have both made amazing adjustments to their units to get us into this position, and as long as they keep doing what they are, I don’t see anyone beating them except themselves.

If that damn team loses to anybody, and I mean anybody, it will be solely because they let themselves get beaten. There isn’t a single team as good as that team up in Columbus is. Texas has the same kind of talent at most positions. But what Texas lacks are true difference makers at receiver, to allow their pass game to help spread defenses out, and allow their run game to really get going. I couldn’t tell you which QB is actually better, but I can tell you which guy I think has the right kind of players around him, to make any potential differences in the two QBs, to be irrelevant. Sark i trust more than I trust Day & Kelly, if he had the skill guys to actually execute his schemes. Which they don’t. They thought they were going to get that with the Bond kid from Bama, and he has been a non factor in all of their big games this year. I think their TE might actually be their best receiving weapon, and he’s a TE, sooo…🤷🏽‍♂️…. I wouldn’t expect to see Texas beating Ohio State this year. Their defense has the guys that they should be able to keep it honest, as long as they don’t do the same stuff like they did with ASU, and let their intensity fade on that side of the ball, and let them get back in it.

I messed with you cube on the last vid about the Tennessee game. Your question is a good one and the answer is: we haven't. Truth be told, and what most buckeye fans won't admit is, that Michigan loss was the best thing to happen to this team. Coaches realized their jobs were potentially on the line and the players still had one shot left at their goals. This Ohio State team is who we thought we would see at the beginning of the season. They've peaked at the right time and hopefully they can continue this run to Atlanta. Go Buckeyes! O-H!

Every breakdown when it gets to OSU is “can this team keep the level of play this high for another game?” But nobody has asked “is there a single team left that has played at that level even for a half these playoffs?”

The defense for Ohio State was consistently this good all year. That's why they were the #1 defense at the end of the regular season. They only gave up over 20pts, 1x, and that was to to Oregon. The Michigan game wasn't loss because of the defense, it was because of the offense. Michigan could barely move the ball. Both field goals was dang near 50 yards. Ohio State defense was not a surprise. They just hadn't put it all together as a team, and now you see what it looks like all together. Penn State struggled against Ohio State. Indiana offense struggled. To be fair, majority of college football never play a complete game. Oregon never played a complete game offense and defensively. So to doubt they could do this was naive.
