@themichaelbrandon4 сағат бұрын
Probably because ND statistically has the 3rd best secondary in college football and when you have the best TE in college football and a handful of other TEs and RBs that can catch the ball, you play to your strengths. Penn State had almost double total rushing yards instead. Does it really matter how many WRs caught a pass when both teams ended up with 5.2 yards per play? ND threw two interceptions, but Penn State's one was significantly more impactful. The box score, eye test and final score all support the same thing. It was a great, even, tough, close game that only one team can win. What's it going to take for college football fans to be entertained.

Unlike the other people who have commented, as a diehard ND fan, I have to give PSU their props. Because I'm an ND fan, I've been conditioned to getting my hopes up before a game only to have them destroyed by the end of the first half. PSU was controlling the game and when they went up by 10, I honestly didn't know how ND could come back just based on how well PSU controlled every aspect of the game thus far. Admittedly, PSU played much, much better than I thought they would and I am relieved for ND to come out of this game as the winner. I’ve seen a couple comments saying this wasn’t Franklin’s fault. This was 100% on Franklin. It was his decision to go aggressive and try to put the game away by putting it on the shoulders of his QB who clearly can’t carry the team. Take it to overtime where you don’t have to worry about time and put it in the hands of those that can carry the team, Singleton, Allen and Warren. His strengths were the run game and defense. Give yourself 25 yards to go vs however many they needed when the interception was thrown and then trust your defense to put the game away. Yes Franklin didn’t throw the pick, but he put his QB in a position to throw the pick knowing he’s not good under pressure like that.
@chrismadison803 сағат бұрын
I agree totally. I don't think they're gonna be able to drive down the field to attempt the fg. Badly missed a 3 yard TD pass to Singleton in the 1st, overthrew him in the 2nd qtr on a wide open wheel route where he would've scored, threw into triple coverage for an INT but was bailed out by a PI call, then the inexplicable throw with 50 seconds left for an INT and a lateral out of bounds to finish it off. One of the worst big game performances I've ever seen from a QB.

The box score for the OSU game doesn’t do it justice cause PSU scored a garbage time TD against a prevent defense to boost his stats but I swear those r the 2 worst games I’ve ever seen from a QB on any level. Before the garbage time TD he was 10/32 for 118 & 0TDs, even ending the game with the garbage time padding got him to 18/42 for 191 & 1TD with a 30 QBR. Believe it or not he took a step forward this year in big games including tonight lol, knowing ur QB has that kinda track record makes the aggressive final drive completely unacceptable tho

Along with the tech and prognostics analysts, they make the game that Freeman and his staff play almost a completely different game than most of the rest of the world of CFB plays. It’s the B1G championship game all over again. You need your defense to keep it to a 1 possession game and the offense blows it with a mistake with no time left…

I don’t understand how Penn State can pay Franklin his ridiculous salary and he still can’t not win a big game. Drew Allar is is the single most overrated player in college football.
