C10's are cheap and easy to work on. my car is a 1979 c10 long bed. i got it from my neighbor for 300 dollars and it's been a good first car. they are a good way to learn how to wrench and weld to.

New battery always helps. If a battery is too low, all the power goes to the starter and it doesn't leave enough juice to energize the coil. One upside to points vs HEI.

I actually installed a fitech system on my 77 c10 before I went ls and I loved the thing. I did a returnless style with ls corvettes fuel filter/ regulator. Only thing I needed to tweek was the iac and change my timing. Other than that it ran fine

My buddy runs champions in his 426 Hemis, I’ll never figure that out, I hate champions, the only plugs worse than champions are Accel, I’ve taken out old Autolites, put in Accel, which fouled by the end of the road, driven back home and taken the autolites out of the garbage and re installed them, worked fine

A buddy of mine had a ‘90 k20 when we were in high school with a 420 hp 383, it was a rocket sled and a total riot. It was really hard to do a burnout because it was a non synchro 4 speed but it was fast as snot

my square body does same shit,push up on shifter ,bet it starts hahahahah,my son tried to manual shift the 350 turbo,after he put back in drive the pointer on shifter label wasnt aligned,since then when you park it,try to start dont,just a little tap up on the shifter ,cranks like a champ,come on guys ,you know how old stuff rolls hahahh

CPR GARAGE dunno but I found the build quality is fine and a properly sorted tune works well. That’s my experience.

Putting a efi system on a vehicle that doesn’t run for crap isn’t going to make it run any better in my experience, there’s usually a lot more going on than the Holley is junk. My friend has the same experience as you did with that fitech system, and he bought the dual quad one with all the bells and whistles, some times it would run great, other times not at all, no rhyme or reason. Always make sure to put new grounds on your heads, block, firewall, radiator support, frame, any where else you can think of, that’s always a problem too like you mentioned

I have a Mean Street from FiTech, didn't have any of those problems with my install. Ran it on a 400 Pontiac with 8:1 compression on pump gas, and a 455 with 13:1 running E85. Built the fuel system with a Walbro 225lph pump and 3/8 steel line for the feed. Those engines were in my 65 GTO that I did a frame off rebuild on from a rusty heap of scrap, so after the work repairing all the rust it was easy to get a good ground on it. Had to tune some E85 Qjets I am doing for people, so I took it off. Its going on a 70 AAR Cuda clone I got from my dad, should make the 340 run better than the Edelbrock carb that is on it now. Most problems with these aftermarket TBI systems are about the install. Like the check valve in the tank, bad grounds, poor pump placement, not wiring it right... I've seen lots of it. My GTO had an intermittent no start because the repop wiring harness decided to not have power at the pin during cranking when it did before. Wasn't a fuse, not sure what happened. That was all it was, I changed the location for the white wire to a 12v while cranking and running source and it never did it again. It might be that I have lots of experience with carbs and EFI that made it easy for me. I know most guys have no clue about carbs, even when they think they do, and they are usually the ones who have the most trouble with these TBI systems.

I’ve see people cry their holley is junk, the edelbrock is junk the fitech is junk.. pretty soon you realize maybe it’s the person turning the screws 😂 I am a tunnel ram carb nut but I have installed fitech on 3 vehicles including my wife’s 86swb and have had no issues, you just need a lil know how and tuning experience.
