If anything this video is just about how you really cant justify the apple pencil usb c. My cynical mind is telling me that they might phase out the 1st gen cuz of lightning and eu regulations. The usb c will be like the Iphone SE for Other Iphone models or Ipad 10th gen for Ipad Air; it is there to prop up the 2nd gen and if you buy the usb c and found that you needed the pressure sensitivity after all, then youll be forced to buy one. If anything, why would anyone actually want to plug in their styluses if they don't have to; from what i know, i dont think i've seen samsung release an spen you have to charge.

People who only take notes won't necessarily need the double tap or pressure sensitivity would they? Also another thing to note is that this may have been (and most likely is) a rushed effort to put out a USB-C pencil, otherwise they wouldn't've been able to sell any Pencil in the EU (because they had no USB-C option, only Lightning)

They could’ve just kept the double tap and pressure sensitivity on the pencil, because they could’ve just made a setting on the Apple Pencil to turn it off and on (for example: turn off double tap when using *insert note app or some other app). And also.. why were they rushing out a usb-C compatible Apple Pencil? Like.. the gen 2 Apple Pencil charges magnetically, there’s no need to make a pen compatible with usb-C chargers if it could just charge without having to get any sort of charger (putting the pen on top of the iPad charges it💀).

@SaveMeAzathoth Жыл бұрын
This analysis is basically treating apple pencils as for artists only. As someone who uses the Pencil 2 for note-taking and general device input, I would not miss the lack of pressure sensitivity in the slightest. Double-tap is also a bit borderline of a feature: I appreciate having a quick way to switch between pen and eraser, but it’s inconsistent enough (both failure to reliably activate and a tendency to unintentionally activate) that it can also be a bit of a liability. I really wish that they’d just let the back of the pencil function as an eraser. Of course, I can’t fault people too much for treating the apple pencil as just for artists when Apple also seems unable to imagine obvious ways that non-artists would want it to behave. It’s frustrating that the apple pencil can’t completely replace fingers when interacting with an iPad because it can’t do basic fundamental tasks like pulling up the app switcher. (And honestly, as far as magnetic charging goes, I’m not fixated on the idea of the pencil getting its charge directly from the iPad. If they released some kind of magnetic plinth pen rest as a charging accessory, I’d kind of prefer that.)

Dawg i was given this new damn apple pencil type c for my gen 10 ipad.. I was worried and concerned about it not being the right one and I was right. I just received my ipad recently and I never really owned apple products myself before.. Don't get me wrong, before I was bought the apple pencil, I researched it and I noticed the specs and it stated "No pressure sensitivity". I don't know why I didn't convince my parents about this and just brushed it off. And my parents proceeded to buy the new apple pencil type c anyway (saying it's more convenient for my ipad and it was cheaper). I was excited that I could finally draw using a stylus and could achieve the best drawing experience.. I even brought procreate. And after 2 months of using it. Well, I finally noticed why it didn't feel as I expected it when i draw using the pencil. I knew something was off, and it just clicked to me that the pressure sensitivity wasn't there. I thought it was a glitch, thinking my pencil broke or sum shit.. But I had completely forgot and disregarded the fact that it had no pressure sensitivity from the beginning. I feel like I've been scammed as an artist, who crucially needs the pencil to DRAW not to take notes. WHAT'S THE POINT OF USING THE PENCIL TO DRAW WHEN IT DOESN'T WORK AS IT'S EXPECTED, it just feels like I'm using my fingers to draw again. Then again, all of this is my fault for disregarding and not telling my parents about it sooner.. Mind you the apple pencil was bought when it was released in the US (I'm not from the US). I don't know how to feel about my ipad anymore. Sorry for writing a damn essay i just had to write this because I'm pissed and upset. Tldr: I forgot and disregarded the fact this apple pencil is shit for artist and just noticed that it had no pressure sensitivity.
