Exactly! As a new army I clearly see that and I have no doubt that they will get back together. As a former one direction fan, it was so stressful being in that fandom because of the "18" months lie (and other things). And the fact that none of the one direction members interact with eachother in buplic is so telling. BTS members interract with eachother all the time after hiatus. And that is so reassuring and heartwarming

@@thalascheffer6446 I was a bit too young to be a fan of One Direction, but I feel like this is a thing also with other western groups. Fifth Harmony and Little Mix being good examples, everything looks good on camera, but a lot of sh*t happens behind the scenes. I feel like, with BTS, the entire music industry could reject them, their fan base could literally disappear, and they would still be in each others houses having a good time. They are unlike any other group, both internationally and in Korea. They've always been honest about their struggles and their plans, I truly think you can get a better group-fanbase relationship then BTS and ARMy, and I don't regret one bit of supporting these amazing men.

when the news of their hiatus came out i was so relieved tbh because they deserved this rest they deserved to take a break from everything. the way they love being bts and the way they love each other i was/am sure that they'll come back i never doubted it. This is one of my favorite videos of hers. Because I didn't understand why the Western media was taking the word hiatus and acting like the band was gonna break up. I was so confused because the word hiatus does not mean we disbanded, in the context that they were putting it in. The whole “member of x group” type label, I’ve been listening to K-pop since 07, from my experience, even though it’s just an individual member, they still represent their group. Anything that one member does can positively or negatively effect their group because they are a team. It’s a good way for people to market their own groups during their individual promotions and also there are a lot of people with the same names so it helps if you want to look up who that person is.

Something else to keep in mind is when the members of One Direction auditioned for X-Factor they auditioned as soloists. But what do you do when you are told at 16/17 years old that the only way you'll be on this huge platform is if you are in a group. And of course One Direction was huge probably bigger than any of them expected it to be, but I think their end goal was always to be soloists and just make the best of One Direction for the time being. I think if the members of One Direction ever do reunite it was only be for a few concerts or maybe a 1 time performance, I think they are just so busy with their own careers and personal lives they don't think about reuniting every day.

I had a brief directioner phase right before one direction split. I also became army two months before BTS announced their break, last year. I felt so betrayed, in June 2022, because the two experiences felt similar to me. I hadn't had time with BTS to learn that it wasn't the same thing. Now, a year later, I trust them a lot more, because they showed me, time and time again, that they are not liars. They are trustworthy, they love each other and they aren't false advertising to their fans like 1D were. Thing is, I truly believed 1D liked each other! Knowing that they didn't really, that their relationship was mostly professional, and being a baby army last year, I was scared that BTS' friendship might be fake, that they were putting up a front. I'm so glad I stayed to discover that wasn't the case at all. So yeah, when bora says 1D's hiatus left a trauma... I 100% get it.

I definitely think in the west it’s very hard for the west to like boy bands because of the stereotype of what a boy band was like in the 90-00s. Boy bands didn’t have a diverse fandom like BTS does. Boy bands like Nsync and Backstreet Boys fandom really was teenage girls. And Boy bands were not known for being really involved with the music and lyrics. So it’s seen like that no matter how much BTS try to prove their musicality and the fandom tries to show how diverse we are. And I remember when one direction was popular they didn’t have a super diverse fandom and it was most preteens to early 20s girls. So it can probably be confusing when the west sees grown adults and grown men in their 20,30,40, or 50s being apart of the BTS Army. BTS are constantly questioned for how they wear make up on stage and music videos, even tho all male artists (even rappers) in the west do that to but for BTS that makes the west throw homophobic words at the members. And then throw the racism and xenophobia on top of that it makes for a hard journey for the boys.

Personally? I was confused what all the crying was about. I have had time to find my faith in them (if they are treating it as religion I'm using that word). Why did they cry? Because they were drinking alcohol. Because Namjoon was so exhausted that he didn't even hear the encouragment of the members that he was talking for them and doing well when he doubted it. Furthermore they had just officially moved out of their shared dorm. That was their last day in a shared home. Inofficially they had already moved out but in the back of their head the thought may have been that if they wanted not to be alone/to be together they could just go over to the dorm and someone would be there. And for a time that was true. Especially when they promoted their music actively. Meaning the negative of losing the common home was not balanced by a new beginning because that had already happened. Mind you - again - a lot of the crying was alcohol and empathy to poor exhausted Namjoon. We already had heard that Yoongi was scheduling his live, lessons and new music. We also knew - looking back - what the members had hinted at for so long. So... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Not to mention from former pauses I knew this would be one of the most active "hiatus" ever seen. I mean look what they gave us? in shows? in music? so much! There were so many jokes about that in winter of 2021/2022. "We are taking a break! Not you! You Army are getting new..." 😏 💜

As an unburdening, at last being able to share things he hadn't shared with us for far too long - his fears, his needs, and yes, his exhaustion. Of course the alcohol made him less restrained than other times, but I was never so pained by what I saw from him as I was grateful that he'd shared with us at last. People forgot so quickly that before the blowback, when Joon talked about the dinner, he was EXCITED for us to see it. He had finally been able to be open, and he wanted to share that. I'll always be a little sad that was lost in the aftermath.

You talked about bts using Suga of bts or Jungkook of bts and assuming it may be an eastern culture thing. It is true eastern culture is more focused on the unity of society rather than individualism but i think this is a very unique specific case. I only follow a few other groups except BTS so this is just my pov. Those groups i follow have members that pursue solo works but they do not promote it as X of group Z or Y of group Z. It is just their names. So i think BTS may be the ones taking the prioritizing of the group in their solo works a bit far

That announce… I remember it was so funny, cause I watch the video with spanish subs (mexican ARMY here) and I remember undertanding everything the boys said, that they wanted a rest for personal selfexplore and evolution, want to share proyects with individual pov and expressions, and the family that BTS means for each other which is a key to making ways for them to be a longtime goal, hiatus and disband words weren’t use in the translation. So when I got to school, a lot of kpop and non-kpop fan classmates asked me if I was ok… same my mom (she saw it on the TV news), my sister, even my work supervisor ask what happened to BTS, I had to explain the misunderstanding like 12 times that day until BigHit step up and clear it on Weverse 😅 Even I got a bit confused by so many people asking about the hiatus that I watch the video again twice (with english and spanish subs)

about what you said that maybe the confusion started because of the approximation on year 2025, well they can't really put the date itself of the group reunion cause it all depends on when their military enlistment ends (all of them), but it was estimated that they will all finish it on 2025, even if one or two members finish at the end of 2025 or not, its still 2025, and also for kpop groups we don't really expect them to be active immediately after military service, (unless they already have ready stuff and just waiting to be released once they're all out of the military service itself, creating an album and stuffs takes a lot of time you know, so seriously I don't expect them to release music immediately after their military service I expect maybe by 2026 but they will be reunited by 2025 cause they will all end their military service by 2025)

I think it really depends how his shoulder is doing now. I know when he got the surgery in 2020 part of the reason was for his military enlistment. And when Suga was asked how his shoulder is doing now he said it was fine. I guess it all depends on his physical exam. But I don't like people saying for sure he's doing public service instead when that hasn't been 100 percent confirmed yet, people are just assuming he is because of his past shoulder injury.

When yet to come came out I knew that was their way of telling us they are getting ready to enlist in the military. But seeing how active they have been with their solo projects and just in general I felt so much better about everything. And yesterday the last 2 members enlist in the army sadddddddddd they left one army to go to another army lol. I know it has been said by at least Yoongi that everything he does as a soloist also reflects BTS because those are his brothers and Bandmates. Yes, they are doing solo work and Military duty right now. But as a group they just did "The Planet" OST. Isn't that enough proof for those people that are trying to start BS that the boys are still very much BTS? Harry is not part of 1D any more that group doesn't even exist they are not working under the same contract as a group because they have new contracts with individual labels. I think everyone knew that as soon as the member's signed with different labels. Where as BTS members are still a group under their united contract as BTS. They have always done individual solo work and have always supported each other it's the group idea. They never stopped being part of BTS when they did solo work. As they are on haitus they can rest or spend more time on their solo works or any mix of both. Also this allows them to continually grew as artists. They see themselves as part of BTS who Just happened to also have solo projects, that's why the introduce themselves the way the do. They wouldn't say I'm ,..... of BTS if they didn't believe they were no longer part of BTS. Look how they support each other's work turning up on set as one is making a MV or turning up at concerts each other's concerts. That all says team. RM even talked about how he wants to start work on BTS lyric writing as soon as he's completed military service so he has some things ideas ready for when the younger members finish their millitary service. I was super stoked when they came back (this was after I was already an A.R.M.Y) but I saw a video where they essentially made fun of BTS and I stopped stanning. I have no tolerance for bigotry. ARMY has been awfully busy trying to breath and keep up with the "hiatus" these guys are on 😂. Yeah media blew it all out of proportion. If they were actually listened to the guys they would have figured it out. They always told us what was going on. But then OD was thrown together when they wanted to soloists. BTS came up very differently and on top of that there is the cultural difference of the us vs me mentality.

BTS are a family not just them but their families are family there is no distinction each set of parents consider that they have seven son's instead of just the one that joined the group, the parent's and extended family all see each other as family. This is much bigger than the seven member's, they have had a huge effect on the world, only the Beatles have had such a worldwide movement.

@@mamejoe2043 yes, and they were like can't wait to get out of the team, I mean in the first place they auditioned as solo artist, maybe they felt forced when they were put together and doesn't feel like want to be in a group but it's an opportunity they cannot pass up and thinking they will go separate ways in the future so they agreed to it. So sad do for the fans though. They spent time together but didn't click so maybe it's better to go separate ways. But then they should have been honest and let fans waited for nothing. Anyways it happens.

They renewed their contract in 2020... and they were supposed to go to military after their contract renewal. Both was supposed to happen one after the other but the gap between the contract renewal and the military became 2 years.... cus of pandemic. K entertainment contract are 7 year which is one of the reasons they released map of the soul 7 as their final album before the military. The 7 year contract is also the cause of the 7 year curse in kpop... which is about groups disbanding after their 7th year.... bit bts survived the curse with dynamite, butter life goes on and yet to come. I bet they will once again renew their contracts after military.

One factor that must be considered & sometimes taken for granted, as far as the return of BTS, is this ... that in these following many months leading up to their return somewhere in 2025, we hope everything goes well for all 7 of them & that no major catastrophes will happen. This means a major war breaking out, or an accident, or a death, or another pandemic, or an issue at Hybe etc. Whatever the case, we can assume the best, but at the same time, still have to worry about the worst. You can put everything that is important up on a pedestal, but just make sure to put some padding on the ground around that pedestal.

But I was the Directioner for a long time and still follow them and she talks a lot of shit. They’re still good friends and every member are still friends with one another like the friendship was precious and they still talk about it. And that was the special thing about One Direction that they were just at mates but almost family. I know their whole discography and every interview and every moment they shared so the video is a bit problematic and not really good. They all also said even in 2023 that a reunion is possible.

Just look at daily top 10 of spotify bts rank 8 despite of hiatus and while at it bts book memoir is already no. 1 book in 4 categories. Your exo compared to bts is a joke.
