If you're truly part of the elite 4, you wouldn't even need to put yourself in that category, the public would have done it for you. He might have had a great impact on k-hip-hop, domestically but he is nowhere in the same level as the elite 4, whether his fans like it or not. And the fact that he forcefully inserts himself in these conversations is frankly embarassing. Moreover, there are other k-hiphop artists who have made a greater impact on the genre like epik high, seo taiji etc... yet you don't see them gloating about it. Even if you believe jay park deseves to be part of the elite four, you can't deny that only someone who feels the need to prove themselves would do and say such pathetic things. When you're a legend, you no longer need to prove yourself to others, your actions have already done so.
@janetuss6496 Жыл бұрын
Totally agree, I feel second hand embarrassment when he tries to insert himself. Like sir, Epik High and Self Taiji deserve the acknowledgement more than you, but aren't doing goofy things like you. Let's say BTS wasn't included in the elite 4 for whatever reason, I couldn't imagine any of them being like Jay Park and trying to insert themselves. They're too humble for that, but also self confident enough that they don't need to clamber for such validation.

If he had just left the claim n his song, & wasn't constantly pushing the narrative, i think he would look less goofy, but that is my opinion. I agree that the bts rapline had more impact, but most people would not associate them with the K-hiphop scene (even though they are legitimate rappers). People mostly know them as members of BTS, so if we are talking about bringing more international eyeballs and interest to the k-hiphop scene I would say it is either Jay or Epik-high. Not to mention the amount of work he has done for the scene, from featuring for free for rookie artists and promoting them inside and outside of Korea and helping recruit international hip-hop artists for Korean festivals. So him saying he has done the most for the scene imo is not goofy at all. I don't know why people try to compare with the BTS members, people mostly associate them with k-pop. If we are talking about growing the scene they have only started making collaborations in the last two years.

While Jay Park is ethnically Korean & has dual citizenship now, he wasn't even born in S.Korea. And BTS also uses a ton of hiphop elements in their music, that is their foundation, they even mention the western hiphop artists (half of them OG) as their inspiration. So if anything, BTS should also be mentioned in K-Hiphop circles, as alluded to in the video essay about breaking hiphop barriers & being in the KHiphop Elite instead of Jay, which means we do not need Jay Park in the Elite 4 then, because BTS will already cover the hiphop factor, even if at a smaller percentage perhaps. There's also the fact that BTS has more global impact than all of K-Hiphop combined. And I would put Seo Taiji over Jay Park because Taiji was very likely the very first to introduce Hiphop to S.Korea & additionally also helped make that genre big & popular there, shifting their music culture, during the time when hiphop was only about 2 decades old in the US, where it began of course. Not just that but Taiji is also considered the Father of KPop (there is a complexity there that I won't get into here). KPop itself is still very young at this time, about only a quarter century old. Jay Park would have not gotten the music career he has if it wasn't for Seo Taiji. In fact, there wouldn't be any BTS either & the entire thousands of KPop labels & idols without Seo Taiji (again, there is a complexity here I won't get into). So when it comes to S.Korea alone, that is the impact of Seo Taiji & I would put Taiji in this Elite group if it was going to be an Elite 5, not Elite 4. Seo Taiji himself is multi-genre, multi-instrumental, multi-experimental & producer/engineer, even adopting computers for making music back in the late 1980's & early 1990's when desktop computers were starting to be able to accomplish those feats better & better in those early days of computing. He used Classic Macintoshes & so forth. I myself am a computer geek, heh. And I mean, there wouldn't even be a S.Korea either without the US, who majorly saved them from Communism, which means none of this Elite conversation stuff would have happened anyway if that war didn't happen in 1950, blame Karl Marx, heh. Gotta look at the whole picture. 12/15/24

OMG PEOPLE if Jay had to name all the legends in SK fields on a song then we'd be here for days. The song would be hours long. It was ONE song lyric. It's his song. He's talking about K-Hip Pop. He worked hard and can pat himself on the back for sure. People who don't know anything about Jay and his mentality are the ones who come up with crap hate comments. Do you see the man speak and what he's about? NOPE. He said Big Bang were the OG legends and got hate for that from the BTS army. It's like you're denying Big Bang weren't legendary? They paved the way before BTS. People can keep hating. Jay is going to be successful and helping many artists, dancers and families doing what he does. Even BTS themselves wouldn't appreciate the crap their fans say about so many people. They're fans of Jay Park. They've said this many times as well. Go cry in the corner.

the thing is, no one denied his impact on the khiphop scene. no one would've mentioned him, if he hadn't added his unnecessary two cents. it's not a rise, but ignorance. it's the fact that he sang a whole song, and even to this day, continues with such ignorance. if we go along with his words as it simply is, you and I should be able to agree that though he has made an impact in the khiphop scene, it simply wasn't global. and it's just that. we should be able to check people like this, especially when they're passively disrespectful. in which, he was.

Bang changed BTS from a hip hop group to K-Pop because he felt like K-pop had more longevity. He was right.
@laurahilliker5336 Жыл бұрын
@baddiesc7gn, Hittman bang decided to change the music format for BTS not just from hip-hop to K-pop because K-pop is not a genre because there’s many different genres in the K-pop industry ! if you notice the formula of k-pop you have rappers and you have a vocalists and the music accompanying can be anywhere from pop. rock , EDM, HipHop etc. it just becomes a versatile multi genre format in K-pop. Because if that’s the case stray kids wouldn’t have 3racha which consist of three rappers doing solo work as well as BTS has three rappers who do solo work & rap as a threesome which is away from their perspective groups. You also have to remember that Nam-joon and Yoon-gi are underground rappers that’s where they started and they’re still considered underground rappers because they’re more than just a few bars inserted in the format of a K-pop song they have multiple bars that were part of the whole make up of what bang shi Hyuk wanted in the very beginning when he was setting up BTS as a hip-hop group ! Bang, he built it around RM Who is a underground rapper. Plus in your typical format of K-pop groups both boy and girl there’s the rappers majority of the time they don’t write their own lyrics or compose their music .few have. BTS are true nation leaders in legends all seven members were born in South Korea and so were the other three members of the elite 4. Jay Park was born in Seattle Washington he’s an American he might have dual citizenship I don’t know but still if you are representing South Korea you have to be born South Korean in order to become a national hero or a national legend. Jay park has a massive ego he is good as a producer a CEO of many companies and he started out in a K-pop group by JYP entertainment 2 PM. Jay park is kind of a hypocrite he says that BTS can only represent K-pop and he represents K hip-hop well he’s wrong because he go back to his roots he was in a K-pop group so therefore he became K hip-hop after he left the group and he’s extremely wrong for doing what he did in front of J-Hope on that show! 💜

With what he did with his labels AOMG and H1GHR and the artist he signed and promoted for the past 10 years, especially after Illionaire disbanded I really think he did pushed K-hip-hop to what it is right now and has the bragging right for it. Khip-Hop used to be an underground thing with only kpop labels Hip-hop group from YG is well known to the mainstream. The song isnt about the Elite 4 or whatever 4, he rap about Khip-hop though, sure Khip-hop isnt as big as K-pop. Other than Son and Parasite, Korean football and korean film isn't as big either. So It's not about who's biggest internationally in their field but rather who contributed a lot in their respected field. If any Khip-hop artist don't agree with his statement, they're free to drop any diss track.

But Parasite(South Korea's highest grossing film in history) getting Academy Award is huge thing and due to his work people's interest in South Korean film has increased a lot. Even then a of western knows his very first english film Snowpiercer. And he was named one of the best 25 directors of 21st century. Bong Joon-ho is very famous in western to the point lot of other imternational directors takes inspirations from him like David Fincher who took inspiration from Bong Joon-ho's thriller crime documentary film "Memories of Murders" to create "Zodiac". He already started earning global recognition in 2006 with his horror film "The Host". So you have to understand that Bong Joon-ho is a very well known great director that even famous American directors like Spike Lee and Quentin Tarantino admits his talent. He already started spreading Sougth Korean name through internationally since 2006. So you can't diminish his achievements just to sooth Jay Park. Bong Joon-ho is a big shot internationally and now he is teaching the new generation of directors. Don't know that much about soccer but you also can't diminish that man's achievements too. In the 2022 FIFA South Korea did great and managed to get their name out to the whole world and showed they are no joke. If that's not a great achievement then what is really? Almost everyone was talking about South Korea after they beat Germany with 2-0 win and Portugal(which had C.Ronaldo) with 2-1 win.

What a joke! Narrative saying jay is worst in khiphop when it comes to authenticity. Biased much. Your own faves had done much worst than him since narrative wants to add bts elite in khiphop as well. Western hiphop artist doing collabs with bts rapline is mostly because of bts's fame. Would they've collaborate if there was no bts? Jay literally came from hip-hop culture. He was already doing b-boy battles back in the states with his crew before being a musician. Brought himself up from scratch by creating his own companies with artistic freedom unlike kpop which have a system for idols do's and don't's. Stayed true to himself, doing work/music however he wants. He may sound ignorant, but that's how most hip-hop artist express themselves. For god sakes it's his lyrics. He has rights to express however he wants. Y'alls just want to hate on him. I mean, the verse itself became sort of a inspiring meme where people include their name in hopes maybe one day they can be as big as them. Ungrateful fans belittling people's work. Would bts members be known as they are now if they were to start out on their own as solo?
@g100-w6j Жыл бұрын
and the same can be said about BTS lol they came from nothing, made themselves known and made an empire from their near bankrupt company, they write their lyrics and have always done the music they have wanted so the kpop controlled narrative y'all love to push around when it comes to them doesn't work sorry. keep that for the other k groups lol. RM and suga were big in the underground scene. there r translated Korean blogs from back then were older ppl were quaking in their boots because of 14-16 year old Runch Randa aka RM😭😭💀💀 suga was also b boying (but stopped because of his shoulder injury), was rapping and producing since he was a teen even going as far as getting ripped off selling his beats but not getting payed by ppl, Jhope was already in the street dancing scene, winning competitions and a national competition and was also well known lol like nothing u could possibly say against BTS that will be true because they were the biggest underdogs. And yes western hip-hop artists would still want to make music with them because they r that good like Namjoon has been doing that since 2014/2015, Hobi has Jcoles number and they text, Wale said in interviews that if Namjoon came to live in the US he would become one of the biggest producers and lyricist, Yoongis love and respect for Juice wrld (rip to him), Megan wanted to collaborate with them and they approached her for the butter remix that she had to fight in court to be released in the first place because of her shtty label, namjoon/bts with Pharrell and him saying to Joon he wanted to tell them to ditch the bbmas in 2018 and go to his studio that was nearby because he wanted to work with them even back them, Nicki has had only good things to say about them, Anderson Paak has worked and loves them too as well as his wife and his son, one of Kendricks producers (forgot his name) came to their US concert for the Love yourself tour and outro Tear got his mind blown, Drake saying to them how they r doing so good and they r so big and that he would host them in Toronto the next time they go there😭😭 like who is Jay park when u have all this love and respect from the people who made the genre themselves in the first place, have so much love and respect for them and vice versa. Saying if bts were to start on their own as solo hmm that also doesn't work for them when they r all the biggest solo Korean artists worldwide 😭😭 like it's not their fault that they amazing as a group and just as amazing solo lol unlike them jay park left (lowkey got kicked out of) his group like the irony is staggering

But if you ask who has done more in bringing attention to K-hip hop, it has to be BTS! Only a person blind to reality can say otherwise. I can assure you millions of people from around the world who didn't even know about the existence of K-hip-hop got into the genre because of BTS. We now listen to Epik High, Dynamic Duo, Tiger JK and many more. (The real "legends" I mean) Also, I think a lot of people tend to forget that the authenticity is one of the most essential elements of hip-hop and I don't know many hip-hop artists in Korea who are more authentic than BTS except for perhaps the likes of those mentioned above. I'm sure the legends in hip-hop understand that and that's the reason they respect them. People like J-cole and Pharrell don't collaborate with an artist for popularity. They know what BTS is capable of and respect their artistic intent and hence their collaborations. Have you even tried listening to their rap songs? One or two fans of other artists not agreeing to it doesn't make them any less of who they have proved themselves to be. Their actions and their friendships with real hip-hop legends are proof of their impact on the K-hip-hop and K-music scene! As for Jay Park, I would agree with Seb in that he seems to be playing into that "not so humble" image deliberately. He is intelligent enough to know what is true and what is not but still is maintaining that image for some reason. It's fine so far as it serves his purpose and he is not exhausted by it by the end of the day!

Exactly that's why I cant take the person who uploaded this original video seriously at all. Its literally your typical BTS Army bias hate video of Jay Park that has so much misinformation and bullshit of the KHH scene and about Jay. People do no research whatsoever and base everything on twitter takes which clearly are misinterpreting every word that comes out Jay Park mouth or his actions. Any Jay Park or KHH fan in general can tell that video has most bias hate propaganda. This on going imaginary beef that international BTS fans think Jay Park has with BTS is so dumb. A good example is when korean BTS army fans leak videos of that Jay Park and Hobi interview. They where both having a good time talking and respecting each other but then international BTS army fans started saying that Jay was giving Hobi the could shoulder. They started making all these nonsense twitter threads and tiktoks talking shit about Jay. It got so bad that the original person who uploaded the video and also the actual Korean BTS fandom fans posted a twitter apology for Jay Park and his fan because of how international BTS fans were twisting the narrative on the leak fancams and making shit up for no reason just to get on the Jay Park hate bandwagon. I bet miss "boracity magazine" won't make a video about that would she? ofcourse not 😆

I get that it’s a biased video as said from the start but the narrative Is crazy not gon lie there was a lot of opinionated stuff and I get that but y’all doing alot, alot no matter what you define what’s makes a artist great jay park is one the biggest representations of k hiphop in Korea( and not saying that there aint other of there of course ik we all know the godfather and the god mother and all that other legends but I’m talking in the scene now and that has been in the scene), sure he might not be as big internationally but in Korea it’s undisputed, like he legit houses and housed majority of the big name khip hop and krnb artists in Korea and has been for over a decade and made a space where alot of these ppl can make some real bread in that sphere, so even if you don’t think he should say his name with BTS together you should at least understand why he did like fr (regardless whether you like him or not whatever your opinion is u got to see the fax’s )

@@CairistionaArmy sure but you know ppl aren’t mad because he isn’t or shouldn’t be in the elite 4, like fr no one really takes offense with him saying that realistically he’s a rapper this isn’t the first time in history a rapper has called himself great or saying that he’s at level that he just be regarded as one the elites as everyone knows that confidence and ego and that’s is also subjective and is something that rappers have been doing for decades so I don’t think it’s as simple as that We know it’s cuz groups name is it and certain people fandom (not everyone) does not like that he mentioned himself with them and don’t want jay to be associated with them as well

Silly army taking comic shows seriously.. army is always stalking and obsessed with Jaypark, so why can't army let go of jaypark? jaypark has always been the object of hatred because he begged for jay's recognition and praised Big Bang. army tried hard to kill for years, but he got hot and had a lot of influence. BTS is running a cyberbullying campaign, and army is doing cyberbullying. And the influencers are making these videos begging for likes and comments.

Try xCeleste Hardship (updated) vid. It doesn't usually work that way for anyone else in the scene. BTW: no one hates Jay Park - people are just amused over his ego. Well... maybe some Koreans do for the stuff he said that got him kicked out of his K-pop group in the first place.

@@cowriver648 Cute. Except that everyone is toxic. If you want a better number of the extreme toxic people let's do some math. Let's say every 1000ths person in a group (that is also true for nations) is extremly toxic: 0,1% BTS has ca. 70 million subs on both their youtube channel and the official IG channel. Math says that are 70 000 people. Nothing against 70 million but very big to be seen. bby gang mag has a vid about Army being toxic - you could also watch that. Not to mention that those are shooters, solos, shippers, insecure, new, trolls and worse *PAIED* trolls.
