I've said this many times before, it was all for the dramatics and hype. YG knew very well what they were doing. Sure, at the very beginning the plan was prob. 5 but I stand by my stance that ot7 had been decided awhile ago. Their eval was shot last year. The girls were spotted all together over the last few months. I think YG did a bad job hiding this fact, but it still worked cause everyone in KPOP is talking about and hyping the girls like crazy. Free marketing. Hate him or love him, it was good marketing.

He said he would have debut all 7 but he did not plan to have them all in Baemon. He wanted to build his 5th gen group around Rora and his japanese group around Asa since they already have popularity through this program. But since the fans demanded OT7 they changed plans. But I know for sure that if fans had disliked one of the trainees, YG would have dropped them so yes Fans have a say. Look at what happen to Treasure, he listened to the fans and made the best line-up even though it meant delaying the debut of his 4th gen boy group by 1 year.

I believe ot7 was decided after their final evaluation, which was awhile ago. YG mentions that the Japan group is set to move forward at the end of this year to early next year. That means the members for that group are pretty much confirmed or close to. They're prob at the same stage BAEMON were during the filming of this show. So Asa not gearing up for the Japan group is another indicator that she had already made the group. I also believe TREASURE was planned to be 13 before the show. The show simply helped YHS choose the members. And also, YG did not delay their debut because of the member change, YG was on the verge of burning to the ground. lol that's why their debut was delayed.
