the explanation of why im sol went to the future in episode 3 is because she had changed the timeline of the fire in her house so she went back to the future. because if you notice, through sunjae's watch im sol has the opportunity to only go back to the past 3 times after she successfully changed the original timeline. And the last scene when im sol saw sunjae before falling into the water was a flashback that it turned out that all this time the one who saved her from the car accident was sunjae

this minor accident just acted as a trigger to unlock buried memories from the original timeline. sun jae was the one who saved her, has been there all this while but she never noticed, never committed him to memory.

This is a very important part of the drama, when SunJae saves ImSol from the drunkard, because she finally remembered what she forgot about her "accident" that it was SunJae who saved her. She can only initiate the time travel to the past but she can't control how she goes back, it's triggered by any changes she makes in the past that alters the future.

She doesn't remember anything from the past when she returns to the future, because when she goes to the present the past self doesn't have recollection of what she is doing while the future self takes over her past sf, that's why she doesn't understand what is going on and think someone is controlling her body cause she goes in and out of consciousness, And ofcourse the past self goes on living her life not really knowing the stuff about sun jae. thats why they grow apart since they don't have a bond like in the present where she knows what is gonna happen. And somehow the present self forgets the fact that sun Jae saved him during the accident. So that's how she had zero recollection of him from the past which makes the drama much more good ❤ but he does remember her. I can't imagine what is going thru his head like she likes him sometimes and then the past self takes over and she doesn't like him no more 😆 and then in the future she forgets him saving her that would totally suck. 😢
