I forget that there are people who haven’t seen this movie but I’m so glad I got to watch it with y’all. There are sequels that are decent but not as good as this. The main actress was also in deadly class which was amazing before it was cancelled.

The actor who plays Lara Jean's dad (John Corbett) played the love interest in My Big Fat Greek Wedding, a romantic comedy from 2002. On top of him doing a really good job in the role, I always thought casting him as the dad was a nice reference to how popular the rom-com genre was back in the early 2000s

This movie series is this generation’s Pretty In Pink and Sixteen Candles - a movie that is stylized, but has enough elements of truth about growing up that it works. And it has enough identifiable realism without becoming the latest gross out comedy. Not every good teen movie has to be looking for shock value. This is good enough that it doesn’t need it and proof that not all chick flicks are terrible.

Yeah Josh gets screwed over in this series... I don't think it's a spoiler to say he disappears completely after this. Poor guy. I like the actor though, he was good in Happy Death Day. Good Horror comedy, highly recommend

im literally reading this book rn !! just want to say the book is so completely different the only thing that is the same is lara jean. which is great bc i love and completely relate to her character/personality, it's like two different things though. the book is more deep/sad/realistic though, i was always expecting it to be comtemporary YA like, but it's not and i love it a lot more the way it is. since lara jean is emotional/empathetic she gives you more insight on what the other characters are like. edit: ah~ i cried. when kitty gave her the notes and then again when peter asked her to read the note to him. I think he represents her taking control of her life and not being scared / insecure.

Her name is Lara Jean Cubby. The actress who plays her is actually a famous Japanese actress named Lana Condor who also stars in Japanese films. I looked her up after watching the third movie, just out of curiosity. Noah Centineo who plays Peter also starred in The Kissing Booth movies. I actually prefer the movie to the book! The movie shows them bonding over their parent drama and I wish the book had that connection 😍 but in the book The “sex tape” was more dramatic. It kept popping up at school and got sped up so it looked like she was actually riding him. 😣And he was actually waiting for Gen in the hot tub which is how she got the video!
