Valdo Calocane, who killed three people in "frenzied and relentless" attacks in Nottingham, UK, is to be detained in a high-security hospital.
He was given a hospital order at Nottingham Crown Court after admitting three counts of manslaughter on the basis of diminished responsibility.
Barnaby Webber and Grace O'Malley-Kumar, both 19, were fatally stabbed on 13 June 2023 along with Ian Coates, 65.
The judge told Calocane: "You were, and remain, dangerous."

Precisely. This new fashion for blaming "mental health" is concerning and dangerous. It's a fact that most people suffering mental illness are harmless. I knew two closely and they wouldn't have hurt a fly. They were even more unlikely to harm anyone than most "sane" people I've met. EVIL is different. When people choose crime and evil actions repeatedly over years, their conscience becomes calloused, their hearts hardened, their minds darkened and symptoms classified as "mental illness" often occur. But they are a SYMPTOM rather than a cause and so conflating the two is dangerous because it further isolates and misrepresents the INNOCENT ones who are suffering through zero fault of their own. An evil criminal is so DIFFERENT from someone suffering PTSD, bipolar, post partum depression etc who have NO criminal record whatsoever. The perpetrator in this case was connected to at least two other crimes, had been kicked out of lodgings, had threatened a flat mate and had been smoking weed/skunk (according to a neighbor but it was only reported in one newspaper). Someone like that, if he eventually injures or murders someone - especially killing THREE and seriously injuring three as in this case (!!) - should therefore face multiple murder charges. Society has degenerated ever since it became woke to no longer believe evil exists. It suits the powers that be on multiple levels not to believe (or rather, ACCEPT) that evil exists but the consequences - as we keep seeing - are devastating. Evil DOES exist and should be punished appropriately especially, as in this case, where there is evidence presented of criminality spanning several YEARS.

The greaving family have all the right to be hurt and to be displeased but this was a very very clear case of SEVERE mental illness. I am a medical practitioner myself . This is not a fault of the legal system . This is a fault of the health system... three psychiatrists including a proffesor deemed he was PSYCHOTIC at the time of the even and other psychiatrist who reviewed the case UNANIMOUSLY , UNEQUIVOCALLY deemed him to be. Condolences to the families. With the benefit of hindsight, I sincerely hope that lessons will be learnt this time and African migrant mental health procedures will be reviewed thoroughly and vigorously to ensure that this doesn't occur again on UK soil.
