There are certain players who come in and simply can’t execute the game plan (Soares, Holding, Nketia). Lokonga played for the first time in weeks and isn’t ready to lead a midfield, especially alongside an 18 year old making his starting debut. This isn’t on the manager at all.

I had a feeling we were going to lose this match. We have no experience in midfield, our defensive depth has crumbled due to covid/rotation. Nkethia was never the answer. We need a striker so badly. Atleast with midfield we can make do when Xhaka and Partey are back, but we need quality up top. Im not too bent out of shape honestly. With afcon, and efl cup bullshitery, our primary focus should still be the league, and then the efl cup. Would i have preference the FA cup? Sure, but this just means, win or lose in the efl cup, we will only be playing one match a week after February. And that is fine by me, cause nothing, NOTHING should distract us from the league.

£100m+ spent 1st team, of which have been a revelation since joining. Today stank of bad attitude, arrogance and poor quality. This was happening before Arteta. We play our best 11, we are capable of beating anyone but unfortunately we havent addressed the full squad issues we still have. 10+ players need to go and more quality brought in - its going to be a mass exodus and wont take 2 or 3 windows.
