Nougat Candy Recipe
Combine mini marshmallows, white chocolate chips, and butter in a large microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 30-second intervals, pausing to stir mixture, until marshmallows are melted. This should take about three rotations or 90-seconds, possibly more depending on your microwave. Stir mixture to ensure all marshmallows and chocolate chips are melted, the mixture will be fluffy and thick at this point. Add dots and mix to combine. Working quickly, spread the mixture evenly in a wax paper lined 8x8 pan. Press down using plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight for best results. Slice with a sharp knife into 1x1” sections.
Enjoy!

My sister loved these when we were kids, we would get them at the Brachs Candy Shoppe bins at the grocery store, early 90s . I think they were 10c a piece with a few coins into the attached coindbox. I would get the cherry hard candy coated gum balls, cinnamon discs, and my all time favotie butterscotch discs. Happy Groundhog Day! Early spring

This recipe totally worked. Candy is delicious. Its one of my favorites. I remember Sears candy counter. When i cut my pieces of candy I took a tiny bit of cornstarch on my hands and brushed over candy so no sticking. I keep candy in cover container in refrigerator i like the candy cold it makes the gummies taste better. I dont taste cornstarch at all because its just a small amount but it works. Thanks for recipe. I will always have this candy to enjoy. I noticed some old school candy cost alot online.

I really like your stories, and I have 2 that yours brought up in my memory. You leaving they candy on your furniture and it left a mark. I was probably 12 and was making popcorn with our popper which had a hand crank on the stove. Before I started mom told me NOT to set the hot popper on her new plastic tablecloth on the kitchen table. You guessed it, I did and it left a10" brown spot on it, she was mad. In the fall of 1976 I was 21 and working at a Sears store in Dayton Ohio. They had a candy counter, and sometimes durring my break I would go and buy just 4-5 pieces of this candy and eat it with my coffee. This brought back memories, thank you.

I remember that candy! Our Sears didn't have a candy counter, but our local grocery store sold Brach's candies by the pound. When my mom would let me buy some as a treat, I always put a lot of the nougats in there because they were my favorite. When you started talking about the French Provincial furniture set, I immediately looked up. I'm 51 and still have the set in my bedroom. My parents bought it at a lawn sale for a steal when I was a tween. It's quite chipped around the edges from lots of use, but still in great condition.

Wow! I wish I still had mine. 🥲 It had a canopy and was just beautiful. Perfect for a little girl. As I got older (a teen) I removed the canopy and just had it as a 4-poster bed. Still beautiful! I received it for my 5th birthday- the dresser, mirror, bed, nightstand, and tall chest. I felt like a big girl. OH, did I get in trouble when I had that candy in my room. I took a bite and put the other piece on the dresser. Big mistake! Bigger punishment!!! I loved the candy 🍬 and the furniture. Both have such great memories. Isn’t it great, the little things so many of us have in common. 😊 Thanks so much for watching! Your post blessed me today and I hope you have a blessed weekend as well!!!

Store them in an airtight container in the fridge. However, if you stack the candy you will need to separate the stacks with parchment paper to prevent them from sticking together. You can also toss each piece with powdered sugar to help prevent sticking. Great question! Have a blessed day!!!

I grew up on west coast and have same memories: Sears trip, the Brach's candy counter, and of gosh THE ENVY I had over that French Provincial furniture!! My two best friends had it. But I shared a BR with my much older sister and she chose the decor - and as a 16 yr old in early 70s, her taste was a bit more rock-n-roll lol. Funny how much memory floods in from a recipe for candy ... I can still hear the cellophane wrapper crinkling upon opening, hoe it made the candy piled up on candy counter gleam & almost sparkle. That was some genius marketing by Brachs!! Happy New Year, thx for memories

I remember the Sears candy counters as well, though I don't remember this candy. I was more drawn to the chocolate stars and the chocolate drops that had the 'white stuff' inside. Watching your video made me wonder what else I could use this for (without the Dots). I am considering cutting into fingers, rolling in peanuts or pecans, and dipping in chocolate. And now I'm wondering what the mixture would be like with milk chocolate and the marshmallows. I suppose it would be very much like the fudge which is made from chocolate chips and marshmallow creme. Anyway, great video. I've subscribed to your channel for more creative ideas.

Love these, they were and still are one of my favorite candles. I didn’t know they were so easy to make. I have seen the dollar store selling the dots. I’m sure there are many more other jelly type things you can use. Wondering if you could use life saver gummy’s. I would try a very small amount once the nugget cooled a bit. They sell the nugget bars at TJ Max for like $6.99. But it is a pretty big bar that you could cut into individual pieces lol

These are one of my favorites too! 😊Yes, Dots can be found at most stores or any gummy candy would work. Life Saver gummies would work, but you would need to cut them in fourths. Also, I had another viewer comment that she used Sour Patch Kids and it was delicious. It would be fun to experiment with different ones to find what you liked best. As for the version at TJ Maxx…it is most likely loaded with preservatives and not as good as fresh. ~ Just my opinion. 😉 Thanks for watching and your comment.
