When you're okay with hearing bad shameless things, there's a problem in your heart, and you lose your imaan/faith....so true.. I still cringe when I hear or see really bad things, but I hope it stays like that. I don't want to be okay with seeing these things later; I don't want to be desensitized... however, I used to have pride in my innocense, but I got rid of it. Almost all 'arrogance' pride turns into an ego problem later, and it's a disease of the heart we must prevent..

I've been in a slump and I lose a lot of things, lot of friends, lot of connection. I lose my hobbies that were haram and I found myself to not like social media anymore. what pains me is that people who I love the most and the closest to me says that I'm not acting normal and that I seem depressed. they say that I should act "normally" and don't make myself aloof and void of interactions so I thought, if this pleases Allah, why would I obey someone to displease Allah and instead please them? People are damaged by the society that men I know freely look at women's picture and even saying "what's wrong with it? there's nothing wrong with it, it's not like I'm stripping her in my mind" and often justify their actions saying that they are acting like a normal person. yes, a "normal" shameless person. but I kept quiet and patient for I know that I may be called out names, I know I am investing in my akhirah and that is what's important. I became insecure and so devoid of people that looking at them hurts me but I became patient with it and what did I get? I learned how to distant myself from social media that is only taking me far away from the truth and Jannah, and I learned how to lower my gaze. I learn how to respect and obey Allah. Although I learned it the hard way, I am still thankful that Allah showed me the right path and guided me. Alhamdulillah. For those who may be reading this, don't be afraid to be different, as long as it is for the sake of Allah.
