While taking a long right turn. Driver can use the complete left lane for extra space most people think like that. But what he did here was he took turn quite early in order to prevent tail swing of the bus, if he took the turn from complete left he would have hit the left tail end of the bus while turning to the right.

The way he shifted that transmission from d to r shortens the life of the gearbox by thousands of km.. he put tremendous strain on the transmission by pushing it to reverse while the bus is moving forward. Even that tiny bit of forward motion will prematurely damage the teeths and actuators, clutch packs. These buses can easily do a 2 or 3 million km. But not when drivers set the drive to reverse while the bus is creeping forward..
