Is there enough power generated to run the daily onboard hotel facilities like fridges, air conditioners, stove, dishwasher etc.
@novaluxe9632 жыл бұрын
Usually, a 10kw solar array will provide about 40kwhr's of power per day. If you divide that by 24 hours, then as long as you are using less than an average 1.6kw per hour, your in the plus. Batteries, give you cushion so you could be negative a few days then positive a few others and it balances out. Worst case after a few days of little sun, running the generator for an hour or so will overcome any shortfall.

so one hour running will drain one day of solar charged bettery? if no generator kicks in.
@novaluxe9632 жыл бұрын
No, solar gives you 1 hour at 6 knots, batteries 4 hours at 6 knots. So after 5 hours of boating, the power would come from the generator.

How many miles can it travel in 1 day on solar alone at 6 knots?
@novaluxe9632 жыл бұрын
Well it burns 20kw per hour at 6 knots. The 5.4kw array would likely generate 20kw so I would say, 6 nm on solar alone at 6 knots.

Interested what will be the cost.

$1.395 million. You will be able to see it at the Miami boat show 2020.

How much is this catamaran?

Nova luxe re-fits existing cats to be electric. In this case the owner bought a new Aquila and converted to electric with Nova Luxe. Conversion is about 400/500k depending on battery capacity. Prices on website, novaluxeyachts.com

I’d be interested in one of these. I like it more than the Silent yacht in terms of style and functionality.

Buy the ELIGHT40 as a test boat. If you like it, we can build you a larger one.

That looks like the custom Aquila from “First Edition” channel to me… 🤷♂️

Nova Luxe does the conversions on diesel power catamarans. Design wise, the Leopard 53 blows Silent Yachts out of the water, with an electric conversion it would be the best electric cat on the water, hands down.

A 5.6kW array that generates 25kW on average. If I were the manufacturer, I would call it a 25kW array then. But I guess he is too humble :)
@warhawkadventures4 жыл бұрын
5.6kw is a per hour figure. Over an 8 hour time period it averages about 3kW per hour so it effectively provides 25kw in a day.
@rainerzufall6894 жыл бұрын
@@warhawkadventures If it generates 5.6 kW per hour it should produce 5.6*8=44.8kW in 8 hours. But let's make it easy: I am just making fun of you guys because you know next to nothing about the SI-units.

@@rainerzufall689 I know that customers would rather know what they actually get from the array over the theoretical maximum.
@rainerzufall6894 жыл бұрын
@@warhawkadventures That is absolutely correct and should be represented by the correct terms and units - power in kW, peak power in kWp and energy in J or kWh. Every kid should know that.
