He is the GOAT. Absolutely nothing left to prove. Tha'ts it. 2024 was just not his year. he was tired both physically and mentally. injuries were the main reason for his both physical and mental fatigue. but somehow he saved it all for the gold which he wanted all his life and he got it. he will take some quality rest and spend time with his family this year. 2025 he will again show why he is the goat just like he showed in 2023. there is still a lot of tennis left in the GOAT

😂 Rogers prime was from 2004-09. Nole prime lasted 2,5x longer. From 2011-2023 he swiped your king and all Atp tour. He's holding all relevant records for most important tennis tournaments. Your king was the best but for 250-500 atp trophies 😉 Just to be clear Rodger was great tennis player, will always be tennis royalty and sinonim for this sport, but Rafa and Novak overpassed him in GS titles, Masters titles etc... Remember it was 20-16-12. Now its quite oposite 24 - 22 - 20 ...

@@steinanderson If you're stubborn as you're profile picture suggests, than i'm not going to argue no longer with you 😀 There will always be a discussion about all time greats in all sports, in our case tennis. And yes, RF will always be remembered as one of them. But the man at the top is No1e. Rodger was 6 years older than him, and he struggled wit him since 2007. At the other hand Djokovic is 10-12-15-16 years older than newest tennis generation, and he still keeps to win over them. Still NO ONE has better h2h agains him from curent TOP 20. If this is no good argument, then i don't know what is. Nole lost only once when he served for the match with 40:15 on the score board, and that was in DK SF agains Sinner. At the other hand king Rodger lost 3 times to Djokovic when he served for the match. At Us open SF in 2010, again at Us open SF in 2011- still in his prime though... ( he just turned 30 that year month before ). And their last clash at Wimbledon Finals in 2019. In most memorable match of their epic rivalry !!! Ah and legendary scene with finger lady. Oh my ... He chocked agains Rafa and Nole since they grown and become ready to challenge him. Rafa did it earlier than Novak. It was 23-10 for Spaniard till 2017. Then Federer pumps up his record against him at 24-14 ... He Still has THE BEST GAME ON TOUR that year and in 2018, but Nole wasn't around ... Novak ruled them all, at their prime, before and after... Rafa lost at RG 4 times - THREE TIMES TO NOVAK ... Rodger won RG not beating Rafa, he never defeated him at Paris clay... Both of them never won all 9 Masters event, both had 7 out of 9. Djokovic won them ALL TWICE. And is MC title shy from beating all Masters titles X3 ... I can write till morning, and still can have better arguments than you ... Don't be sorre loosers. Admit the facts. Yes Rodger has better game for spectator eyes with his elegant backhand. But scoreboard says Nole, Rafa, Rodger. End of story 👋👋👋

@@dusanristic7861 it because you have not context to those figures. it's ok, Novax fooled a lot of people. players born 79-84 won over 440 titles collectively. players born 89-94 have only won 96 titles collectively. 2018-2023 is demonstrably the weakest era ever. Novax could only win 30% of the matches in Rogers prime, meanwhile Roger won 35% of their matches in Novax prime, so Roger statistically performed better in the oppositions prime years. also Roger wasn't a douche bag on the court. Novax shitehouse behavior is why he's not even the 2nd greatest.

On clay, Alcaraz shots are not that lethal as on grass. And Sinner is better on hard courts. Anyway, at best of 5 will be pretty difficult for Nole to beat them both in a row.

+1 By the way, my favorite player (among the "big 3", I mean) has always been Fed 🙂 Novak is the GOAT, by a huge margin. Just consider what kind of career + successes it will take to outperform him is simply mindboggling. Not because of the fact that Rogge is (almost day to day) 10 years younger than I am. Nor that I've always been playing one hand backhand ! Mostly, in not only, because he was one of the last heir of the game style I grew up with and cherished (MacEnroe, Noah, Edberg, Becker, Rafter : those much more inclined to rush the net than to play baseline rallies)

Those publicly wishing him to retire are the disgruntled among the Fedal Fans who are unreconciled to the fact that Novak has surpassed their fave’s.🤦‍♂️ From childhood up to now, tennis is his life... his mind, heart and soul. it is not that he doesn't win anymore he should stop playing. What’s he’s still doing at 37 against this level of tennis, being ultra competitive is simply unbelievable. Novak has earned the right to go out on his own terms: nothing left to prove as long as he feels motivated and loves the game. Certainly not what petty so called tennis and cry babies fans want to happen.

They should just let him be, whether he wins another one or not. He should be able to do what he wants given his accomplishments, age, and long career in tennis. If he doesn't want to retire, then fine. If he wants to retire, it is also fine. Basically, my stance is that no one should tell Novak what to do, whether his fans or his haters.

No offense, but Djokovic ineficiency this year is a result of the growth in the level of competition, rather than him slowing down. During the period of 2021-23, his only real rival was nadal, same as for Federer in 05-06. Djokovic was beatable on some occasions during those years, such as AO 2021, FO 2021, WB 2022, US 2023, when he had to dig deep and come back from the brink. At that time, those players were not strong enough tenniswise, but also mentally. In 2023, he was one set away from history, then in 2024 he got crushed in his only major final reached. You get the point. Everyone expected him to slow down, but not to this point. Sinner and Alcaraz were just too composed. I belive Djokovic has a chance at still winning majors, but I don’t think he can take out those 2 guys. It’s just how life goes, the next gen will always get better and replace the veterans.
