This era was Nadal´s peak in the game, from 2008-2010. His level was amazing, after these years it has been decresing a little bit every year. But he is so good that even this way, he has been winning tournaments but specially whe Djokovic or Federer failed. When Nadal was at this level (2008-2010) he was invincible.

For those who criticize Novak and say he is proud they should watch this match again. It’s important to see his attitude after losing such a tough match. Both players were seeking their first US open title. So it was precious. But see how Novak remained very cheerful in defeat, and gave Rafa all due respects. Notice how he took the cheque off Rafa to allow him free his hands to carry the trophy. So impressive. Not only is Novak arguably the GOAT. Thing is Nadal became less physically fit than this match over the years whereas Djokovic became more fit than this over the years, that's one of the main reasons for Djokovic's utter dominance from 2011-2021 now. Hard work on physical fitness with right kinda diet along with improving his game finally paid off very well for him.

@@fractalinfect3454 True but I don't think he could have beaten this Rafa. This Rafa had a 135mph serve, a very solid backhand, could run forever and destroy opponents on his forehand. The depth on his shots pushed Djokovic so far back he had no chance regardless of how well he played.

@@daniel6323 Yeah, Rafa was at his zenith here, an unstoppable juggernaut. Novak would get close to this level later, however. Even Rafa would end up saying he'd never seen such high level tennis from a player before. (Rafa's modesty wouldn't allow him to include himself in the breath though.) You make a fair point.
