Just like Federer, Alcaraz only plays well when he's having fun. Adversity isn't their strong suit. Nadal is more like Djokovic in the mental department.

@@OmegaMouse Nole is, at the risk of sounding like a broken and skipping record, a mental giant, the likes of which this sport, perhaps any sport, has never seen before, and may never see again. I don't say that lightly, as I've watched sports for the past 45 years. I don't know what he's made of. But every time he's on court, you know you're in the presence of greatness. He commands utter respect and fear in the bones of his opponents.

YES its true that the heat affected both players but if you want beatt novak in big matches your need the heat or the wind. Would that match started 1 hour earlier alcaraz would beat novak in straight set,BUT would the match started 1 hour later novak would beat alcaraz in straight sets. BY THE WAY, carlos alcaraz movement in the heat and in the night session is the same.

@akimanija113 күн бұрын
Not many players can just keep on playing like the match just started while in reality being one or two point from loosing...Novak is famous for this mentality alone! you can NEVER count him out. He never stops, he never gives up! that s what it means to be a GOAT ! This is why Zverev who s exeptional champion never won a GS...the moment he gets broken or loses a set he goes into defense mode and kind of just gives up, you can see it on his face...he has all the weapons! Height, Serve, power, exelent game moves great ect. but when the going gets tough he just frezes. Shame he deserves a big btitle and is always just there but never qite.

While Alcaraz n Sinner are exceptions - the other new gen players are pretty hopeless in 3 or 5 set matches against Djokovic in particular. They should perhaps have a physical advantage at the very least - none can capitalize on it; especially since 2020 As Martina Naturatlova has said ; " they are simply not good enough"
