Novastorm PC Sountrack Mix World 1

After seeing all the gameplay videos around I decided to pickup the soundtrack that I enjoy and upload the the music with no irritating sound effects. It's all the musics from the first world mixed. I excluded some of the boss musics because they did not fit well into the mix. Unfortunately there are some sound artifacts but those are present in the original songs.

Was 17 at the time. 1997, Bangladesh. Plugged the audio out of my 486 Compaq into a audio/radio hifi system and switched the game audio to have music only and no sfx. Recorded myself playing through the whole game and recorded to audio casette. Ditched the PC the following year and the CD was unplayable thanks to how well I took care of it. Never imagined the pain it would cause me later. Lost the tape after 6 years in a house move. Couldnt find this on kazaa. Not sure how many years since then, but I had the mind to search for this here. Thank you for uploading this. Really.

The only reason why I played this game in the 90's was because of the music. This is nostalgia overload.

I worked for Sony back in the day and tested this game on PS1 for a couple of weeks. Absolutely adored the music, especially the tune that you open the video with. Great work - thanks for sharing!

Ah, the good old days. Novastorm was one of the best shooters I've ever played back then. And the music for the first level (including the boss one starting at 1:48) was just awesome.

What an outstanding soundtrack! I myself made an attempt recording the whole score several years ago, but scrapped the project after Level 2. Glad to see someone finished the task. Thanks a lot, it was pretty overdue.

and I thought this "hangs" from background music were only due to my crap cd-rom in 1996. Still hear em now at the same positions. How did you pick up the music?

unfortunatly the bass rythem is overriding the lighter softer audio in the background that made the song so melodious for me.

Also, I honestly thought the guitar solo at 8:26 was much more intense because my computer kept skipping when playing this song like yours is. When and if I make a midi version of this, I'm going to make it a raging guitar solo.

Man. if you would know the pain my mate and me went through to get our own "record" of the score.. playing the game w/o sfx etc. on to just get the sound recorded from one pc to another to capture it. We even wrote about this to Rick Ede, and guess what ? I got a snail-mail from him asking for a copy for his archive as his masters were gone. :D I´m pretty sure we did not get all the tunes in full lenght (bosses) due to .. well.. suvival issues .)
