Looks really nice paired together. But from what I understand launchkey doesn't really interact in any special way with the circuit. Pads could been used to control circuit etc, I don't think they do, right? That's a bit of missed opportunity by Novation.

I know you can use the faders from the larger launchkeys to control the Circuits, but I haven't seen anything about the mini. Curious if you can manually program them in Components.

Yes all the pads & knobs can be mapped to any CC’s in the components app / browser

I was thinking more about the pads interact with DAWs so well. But doesn’t extended the curcuit in the same way. Cause that would have been soooo cool if it did. I think its sysex midi that’s used to controll the pads. And circuit doesn’t to my knowledge send out those. But you right about any CC can be set to be sent out from the launchkey.

@@eightspritesCircuit does send Midi CC values, you can map these to external synths in the novation components web app, takes 5 minutes. Now I have no idea if the CCs you send via the controller are then transfered to external synths, if that was your question. Might need a midi merge box somewhere...

Can you use any Midi Keyboard that has midi ports to control this sampler? Or do you need a specific midi keyboard?

Any controller that has a real midi out port. For controllers that have only USB you will need a "host" converter/thingie to sit in between (inexpensive, but will need to be powered).

@@remka2000 Yeah it worked but I returned it. The Circuit Rhythm can only play one note at the same time which makes playing chords difficult. Did't know that before. Don't know about the Circuit Tracks but I don't want it anymore.

@@ErWarDieErsteNummer1 The Tracks has 6 notes polyphony on both internal synths and the two external midi channels, which makes it nice as the brain for a small, portable setup though. Not many machines in this price range with similar specs I believe... The OG Digitakt, which I own too, has only 4 notes polyphony on midi tracks (but 8 of them), and no internal synths for example, and is probably going to cost more...

I'd much rather use a Seqtrack with a Launchkey: it has USB host, can power and MIDI by USB.
