Me, my daughter, and one of her male friends were going to have to move a large, overstuffed sofa into a second-floor apartment where we were going to have to hang half of it over the second-floor railing into thin air to make the turn into the door. The stairway was also very narrow, so nobody could be on the sides of the sofa helping. There was only room for a person at each end. I knew it was going to be really difficult, and it was towards the end of a long day of moving, so I was already worn out. I'm a 60-year-old woman and not as strong as I used to be, and I was really dreading it, hoping the sofa wouldn't end up on the ground one story down, or one of us end up with a herniated disc in our back. Well, just as we were getting the sofa out of the U-Haul, a UPS driver was making a delivery. He asked WHO was moving the sofa, and when I said me, my daughter, and her one male friend, he said, "Oh, nah. Nah. I can't let you do that. I'll do it. Just don't tell my boss," and before I knew it, he grabbed the end my daughter and I were at, and he and the male friend had it up the stairs, hung over the railing, and into the door in about one minute flat. I never felt so grateful for anybody's help as I did that day!! My daughter gave him $20 for his MUCH APPRECIATED help, and of course we never told his boss!!

@@ShastaAnn That's awesome! I used to work as a resident assistant at our old apartment complex and one thing I did was empty the garbage cans on the property into the dumpsters. One day one was particularly heavy. I had to drag it from the front of the building to the back which was a good 150 yards. As I was passing by the bus stop that was next to the building a guy waiting for his bus jumped up and grabbed one side and we carried it with ease to the dumpster and he helped me lift and dump it. There are kind people out there.

In the middle of the night she would somehow jump all the way up onto the top of the frame about six feet up and balance on the 4 inch wide bar of the frame. BUT... she couldn't figure out how to get down so she'd howl until someone woke up and came to help her.
