I've looked at quite a few 6x6 builds over the last 40 years. Almost none of them (this one included) have a proper load sharing rear suspension like a factory 6x6 military vehicle. This is the KEY...... All the beautiful fabrication in the world, along with cool things like this ones rear steer, will NOT make up for the lack of articulating load sharing suspension. Ditch the individual coils and build it like an army truck with links and pivot mounted inverted leaf springs.... It will kick ass then !! Really cool Jeep !!

Looks counter productive with 6 wheels.

Whoever built this 6x6 made a cool truck. Can't hate on that.

@ Mike patey I believe originally built it. But I think a family member now has it. It’s a super cool build!

How is power run to the rear axle? A pass through shaft wouldn't seem to allow much travel between the two rear axles. Really interesting!

Not sure we saw him on the trail but that's a good point@@dallanc5199

@@dallanc5199 The key feature that most modern builders miss out on is to use a dual rear output transfer case with a pillow block mounted two piece drive shaft to the rearward axle. This is how the WWII GMC 6x6 was built, along with its load sharing 3 link suspension on the axles, with inverted, pivot mounted leaf springs between them.... Radically more travel than this four coil setup, and this GMC style suspension is what would dramatically improve this nicely built Jeep.

The condescending spotter wasn’t really helpful. He had one job and failed in my opinion
