These orthodox Christians are buggin. this sermon is galvanizing and brilliant. we need to value, revere and cherish our great orators instead of critiquing him for not toeing the line of dogma u favor

you don't hear this type of prophetic preaching anymore in the black church. This man is standing in a tradition that goes way back from Dr. King to Nat Turner and to other proud men of God who happened to be black and who told the truth like it was

teaching of christ teach all gods children to defeat the devil and live in gods grace. the lord is your shepherd he will hurt u if that means protecting the flock from evil.

Are you serious? Quoting hip-hop lyrics while preaching - not to mention the fact that routinely find a way to sneak these very lyrics in every interview you give.

I knew someone would find fault with something so effective. It's not that serious and one should be glad Dyson is able to pull and drop those bars in interviews

amcra1 I love Michael Eric Dyson. I think he's a wordsmith. He's very eloquent and articulate. I scour the Internet for clips of his interviews because his verbal innovation is "vicious"! I love to listen to him. However, quoting hip-hop lyrics, usually from Pac, Biggie, Jay Z, Nas and sometimes Mos Def, in every 30 minute interview he gives suggest, at the very least, some sort of personality difficiency disorder.

+amcra1 lol right! Those are words that have meaning. I guess they don't comprehensive the written word!

As a minister myself I do think there are lines we should not cross. However is the hip hop lyric is not vulgar and is the truth then speak on. It does not matter where truth comes from as long as its truth. I sometimes listen to rap music of today so that I can relate to people who may listen to that music. They will readily receive a word from me if I come from where they are, instead of speaking from where I am down at them.
