This man bridges the gap from the hip hop generation to the elite sophisticates. He brings a respectful perspective to urban America. We don't need to agree with everything he says. But young people applaud his effort to bridge the generational gap. HATS OFF TO YOU Dr, Michael Eric Dyson.

Gosh, this dyson fellow must be the smartest person in the world. Smarter than all us other Americans anyway. And all his "race talk" is in no way designed to benefit his economic situation, while at the same time advancing a black supremacist agenda, I can see that fer sure, uhuh. Such a awesome, awesome fellow, I love you eric dyson.

Dr.Dyson indeed an academic success. Even more so a critical analytic thinker that's able to orate constructive thoughts and arouse people into thinking in greater depths.I hope his reproof of Bill Cosby's bully pulpit brings others alike into a more compassionate understanding of the less fortunate.For unto whomsoever much is given of him shall be much required:and to whom men have committed much,of him they will ask the more,Luke 12:48.Thee greatest author inspired men to write 66 books,God.

this is an awesome interview....love Michael Eric Dyson!!!White people in general have amnesia. In my opinion...because they would like the 'daddy knows all' era to continue and the oppression of blacks to continue. period.

@walabee90 WRONG!!!! Gangs have been around for centuries and it was not the Italians that invented the gang culture. They are improperly credited it with it but were not its origin. You can trace many well known gangs in east asia The Triads, YaKuzas, The Irish Mob, the Indian Thugs etc. In Hip Hop culture the term gangster is a form of expressing oneself though dress, speech and personality not to say that they are being a menace to society but rather expressing their art form.

Here's a way to think about it. Maybe movies dsn't have the effect that music does because its all about role play and acting, maybe music is more relatable bcuz its comes from a real place, sung by a real person, the singer isnt acting a role per say. just a thought. maybe music becomes part of our lives more than movies ever cud. we ride the bus and listen to music, in the shower we play music it bcomes infused in away with our everyday lifestyle as opposed to sitting down & watching a movie.

@walabee90 You need to stop making assumptions did I ever say gangster has a colour? No I didn't nor did I say it has race! Pay attention and comprehend before responding. I have known gangsters and bad-asses from many races and each one has its own distinct flair on it. So please relent the position and leave it be as this circular argument is getting us nowhere. I respect your position and can understand why you would assume it was the Italians due to what you were exposed to. To each his own.

The question I always have for white people is this, what are you gonna lose if you stop oppressing, hating, being bigoted and pure dismissive when it comes to race?You know that what is talked about from several different people who may or may not know one another explaining their own personal experiences, cant be a collective lie. The same story has been told from too many people to have the untrue lie test be applied, the only thing that one can do is realize that only you can stop hate for you.

Malik Wilson I imagine that when people stop referring to "white people", "black people, brown people", "red people", and "yellow people" and refer to individuals as people will the racism start to subside. Malik... when are YOU going to cease your racist thoughts and stop vilifying people as a group based on their skin color? I have never oppressed anyone nor hated anyone, nor been a bigot, yet, you have just accused me of those actions merely because my skin is white.
@williamelanningjr5440

Malik Wilson BTW... Dyson IS a racist who perpetuates racism by making racist statements on a number of topics.
@biggbuz66
@biggbuz66 9 жыл бұрын
William E Lanning Jr You have all the answers for why blacks should not hate white people but, the topic of THIS country isn't that, its the oppression that has been historically noted the other way around so, how is it that you seem to have an differing opinion? If your not someone who does something then, it shouldn't bother you for someone to call you that, that has been my experience in life, I don't do drugs so, no one could call me a drug addict and I wouldny let that bother me and that would apply to all things in life for me.
@williamelanningjr5440
@williamelanningjr5440 9 жыл бұрын
Malik Wilson No.... the topic this country should be addressing is why do people desperately cling to their racism while claiming they have a legitimate reason to unreasonably lump people in categories based on skin color. It doesn't bother me when someone mislabels who I am based purely on my skin color. It is an asinine and racist thing to do. My question is when will people stop thinking that this activity is a perfectly logical thing (being a racist) to do?
@biggbuz66
@biggbuz66 9 жыл бұрын
Its so funny to hear whites call others racist lol. You invented racism as the world knows it, to use the term is to simply dodge the accusations being leveled toward you, teach others like those who are really the hate mongers to not hate and the word goes away.

@danL1011 I love how you denigrate the academic achievements of others while (and i'd put money on this) you probably havent even graduated from highschool yet, if you have did not attend university, and if you did attend university have no accolades to show for it. Theology is as viable a subject as any other in school, and the study of Hip Hop (a subculture that now dominates pop culture among young ppl all over the world) is equally valid as a subject of study in higher education

@yendorification [Like i'll believe you ...about your fictional "degrees".] So much for putting money on it. Anyway, over time, I think less and less of my Ivy League pedigree b/c of people like Dyson (Princeton). He even "taught" for 2 years at my alma mater, Brown Univ. At least Brown got rid of him quickly. Read T. Sowell's "Affirmative Action Around the World"; might give you a new perspective on things. And yes, white women were primary beneficiaries of AA. No need for name calling.

Thank you for being cordial. Michael Dyson is the poster child for everything wrong with affirmative action. If you really listen to what he says, he's basically a preacher with big words that amount to nothing. I haven't seen this video in a while, but if you think he is saying anything meaningful here that you would like me to dissect, I'd be happy to. Just give me a minute marker. Better to watch guys like Walter Williams and Thomas Sowell -- two black scholars without the drama.

@yendorification [a Ph.D. in Theology ...one of the most vocal critics...] A pseudo-intellectual is usually not a dummy. Doesn't take much to be a hatemonger. Top American universities are filled w/ Ph.D. pseudo-intellectuals. Dyson is the poster child for everything wrong with affirmative action and political correctness. Ph.D. in Religion? Courses on gangsta rap? Give me a break. Check out Sowell and Williams for real scholars. btw, nice video on the 'Duke'.
