Love the embroidery. I love to cross stitch also. Even though I haven't done it often in a long time. It is my goal this winter to pick it back up. I have read that book. I did enjoy it. At first I had a hard time getting into it, but by the end I was really trying to figure out the mystery. Want to kook for the rest in the series. I do enjoy reading Amish fiction the most. Love your videos

Beautiful embroidery, Sherry! Thank you for sharing it with us. I am an avid cross stitcher. I find it to be so relaxing. I have not tried embroidery yet, but I would like to. French knots are challenging for me! Like you, I prefer holding an actual book to reading a digital version. Actual books take up more space, but I think there's something comforting about being surrounded by books. Almost like a warm blanket. Also, like you, my husband recently retired from pastoral ministry. It's a new chapter, to be sure. We are enjoying your pastor life channel and pray that the Lord will use it to bless others. ❤
@thehomespunwife2 ай бұрын
Hi Debbie and congratulations on retirement! We are loving it and hope you will too. I think you would really enjoy embroidery, Debbie. It is much more forgiving than cross stitch. One thing that has helped me with all my stitches is using videos to learn them. I'm not sure if you have Pinterest, but they do clips of videos to show specific stitches and I can play them again and again. It's a great benefit! Thank you for watching PastorLife! Blessings to you, friend♥

Sherry, this was such a sweet video. I’m looking forward to hearing which verses you’ve chosen to emphasize The Light. Several years ago we toured the holy land - that was a life changing trip. We purchased a Menorah and it has sat in our China cabinet- the only time I’ve used it was when teaching a Bible story. Perhaps you’ve sparked a light in me to use it on special holidays! Thank you!

Sherry, I’m so thankful to have found your channel this summer. I’m thankful for you and I’m also grateful for the You Tube platform. I’ve never met anyone (young or old) that watches it regularly like I do in my circle of friends/family! I am surprised and always try to promote it. The channels I subscribe to align perfectly with my interests and values. I was looking at my finances recently due to Christmas coming up and analyzing my recurring subscriptions but I just couldn’t give up my premium membership. To me it is worth it, because I receive so much joy and helpful information watching wonderful channels like The Homespun Wife. Now I’m going to watch your latest video! Love and blessings to all my fellow subscribers 🙏

Loved this video. I also used to cross stitch quite a bit and a have a few unfinished projects I need to dust off. Currently taking it one day at a time and seeking God’s guidance in my ventures. I’m also ready quite a few books. I love the hard copies but my book shelves are bursting at the seems so recently started purchasing the electronic versions. Although I have to admit there is something special about holding a book. I’m currently doing the Valerie M. Bodden series (Hope Springs). She has quite a few series and so far loving this series. Easy and relaxing read. She’s a Christian author. ♥️♥️♥️ her books. Thx for advising on taking our time with the Bible study we are doing. I am actually writing my answers along with what the Lord speaks to me in my digital journal.

I love cross stitch and embroidery. I’m a bit intimidated with Embroidery though, but I think it’s beautiful. I quilt too ❤ I’m a very “analog” person. I love paper and physically holding a book and the way books smell ( 🤷♀️) I love stationary in general. My mother ( she passed many years ago) was a Hebrew Christian, this KZbin post was right up my alley ❤ lol
@thehomespunwife2 ай бұрын
That's great to know, Paula. I love the Jewish festivals and traditions. Each of them has so much meaning for the Christian, because they all point to Jesus. I love stationary too! Even when I was a child, I loved going to that section of the store and picking something out. ♥.

I so enjoyed your discussion today…😊. The embroidery picture you are working on is so pretty. I hope you will be hanging it somewhere in your home once it’s done. Embroidery is something I always thought I might like to try, but just never have done it. I love crochet and can also knit and sew, so I’m thinking I would like it. You have inspired me to get a kit or at least start learning some of the basic stitches…. As for reading books that are outside of your usual scope, I have the same issue of finding it a challenge to “get into” a new book. I haven’t been reading much because it always seems to make me so sleepy! But when I do read, it’s enjoyable, until I have to stop and lay down! Am I the only one this happens to?? It’s always such a joy to see each new video that you make. Thank you so much…🥰 ❤-Brenda

Hi Brenda! Reading often makes me drowsy too. Lol. Maybe that's because I often wait till evening to read. I do think you would enjoy embroidery. If you sew, you will pick up the stitches quickly, Brenda. Thanks for all your support, friend!♥

If you like Amish christian fiction, may I suggest Beverly Lewis? She writes adult and children books and recently released an Amish cookbook. While she is not Amish, I believe her grandparents were. I believe several of her books have been made into wholesome movies. I worked in a Christian bookstore so have lots of suggestions. Blessings to all.

Your embroidery is so beautiful Sherry. Kind of funny I am contemplating starting some embroidery as well. My husband and I read the first three books of the Mitford series aloud to each other at bedtime, right after the books first came out. It was during that time he surprised me with an Anniversary gift of going to see Jan Karon in person. We had second row seats and sat directly behind her before she stood up to speak. It was very exciting! Blessings to you, Susie!!♥

I also like Amish fiction and have read most of Beverly Lewis’ books among many other Amish authors. Wanted to ask you if you use your local library to get those series of books you mentioned tonight. My library here will order books for me if they don’t have them in the local library from a bigger library. They will get them from libraries all over the state.
