I am dealing with health issues…hindering me from doing the things I need to do or want to do. I know you know all too well the battle physical pain brings as well as many other things. Hi Madeleine! About 7 years ago, I made a video about this pasta salad. I usually double it for our larger family. Since I am not eating regular pasta these days, I have been looking for a better alternative. I read a dietitian that suggested using Chickpea pasta, since it's plant-based and gluten-free. Most plant-based foods can boost your digestive health, lower cholesterol, reduce the chance for heart issues, as well as diabetes and cancer. Last week, I found chickpea pasta at Aldi! I haven't used it yet and hated to try it out on the family at Thanksgiving, but once I eat some I will let you guys know how I like it. Sorry for the long response! Lol. Here's the recipe: Boil 8 oz of elbow macaroni according to box instructions. Drain and allow to cool. Add the following, each finely chopped: 1 large carrot 2 small or 1 large stalk celery 4-5 grape sized tomatoes 1/2 bell pepper 1/2 sweet onion Add 3 heaping serving spoons of mayo (we use Duke's, you use your favorite). Mix well and chill. Salt and pepper to taste. Will keep up 10 days in fridge. If dry, add a little more mayo. Enjoy!

It's amazing how life comes at us so fast, with multiple things that demand attention. This study has meant so much to me. It's reminding me that the Lord's peace is his gift to me, I just need to stay near him to receive it. Vince and I were talking today about how the holiday times can make us melancholy. We think to our childhood and the enjoyments we had, even though we didn't realize what a treasure those days were at the time. And now we are aging. Everything went by in a whirlwind! This is so good. I love how down to earth you are and transparent. I love near the end when are talking about people that are hard for you to like. I have had those people in my life as well, but you know....I prayed over her in spite of my emotions of dislike and slowly God changed my heart towards her. He even removed her from my life for a time. We both changed during this time and praise God, I began to LOVE her! He restored my ugly attitude for a love for her! We still are very different but I am able to let things go and just love her and forgive her. God is a restorer! Oh, how I love him!

This holiday will be difficult. My oldest son is married to a very toxic woman (who we love). She thrives in drama. She decided the grandchildren couldn't see us anymore. My son was difficult before marrying her. My parents have made the situation worse. We find ourselves at a crossroad. We cant take the push and pull. We decided not to engage anymore. It could be possible God is protecting us. Of course im leaving out details. We are trying to push forward, trusting God and mending a deep pain ....Pray for us all ❤

As you allude, it doesn't mean we don't love our family members. It just might mean we need to take a break. I will pause now and say a prayer for you, friend. We have a similar situation. We dearly love our sons and and all of their families. Over the last 10 years we have simply let go and no longer engage. Every visit was difficult and we realized we cannot love them enough to help, we seem to cause more problems just by being kind. It is something with society today that folks cannot relate properly. We miss what we have let go of, but we don't miss the chaos and confusion. The Lord has given us peace and our home is a sweet haven of joy and peace without the drama. The Lord truly is sufficient for all our needs and comfort.

I understand about what you have been through and going though with your son. I have been going through basically the same thing with my daughter for years now. Then this last September, I had to turn her loose and take care of myself. Because, she became so toxic. I just can't handle her action and what she does. And I think that sincerity will sine through. One easy way to share about Jesus is to remember A, B, and C. A. Admit you are a sinner B. Believe that Jesus came to save your from your sins C.
