Cracking video, loved the outtakes. Given his fish track record, you definitely need to pick Roy’s brains for more top tips👍🏻

Thanks and that’s a great point! We will definitely get Roy to talk through more of his fishing in the videos to come 👍

Many thanks that will be awesome. Even simple things like why he preferred the pennel rigged hooks over the dongle, all helps us to improve. Keep up the good work👏🏻👌🏻

Good point about undershotting your floats Ben. On my favourite Fowey mark there's nearly always fairly serious boily currents and a dotted down float will just get dragged under constantly. I've been using Drennan Loafers of all sizes for decades (up to 4 or 5 SSG down Hayle in the past!) but more recently for the Fowey I use almost exclusively bolo floats. My current favourites are Dave Harrell ones in 4g size, I absolutely love them. They ride the water really well and are pretty bullet proof - ideal for the likes of me when I'm constantly smashing them against stuff on the strike. Even then though I still under weight them so there's a good amount sticking out. When the mullet are in the mood, they don't care. As you well know, the idea that mullet are finicky feeders is often bollocks, especially during the colder months. And I'm with you on olivettes. I use them all the time now for my bulks and only ever use shot as trimmers or droppers. I come from the era of lead shot and I hate the modern non-toxic ones. I've learned too many times to my cost how much they ruin 6lb mono!

Great video, Which korum EVA tackle box is Stu using in the video, Thanks.

Thanks Steve, it’s a Korda Compac EVA. I’m not sure of the exact model but it looks like one of the larger sizes, either a 200 or a 220. Ben

3:50? Garfish but can’t hook! …. Try Hornfisk Silketrad /silk thread or 2-3 lengths of knitting wool (3-4inches) alongside the hook or instead of!! Your catch rates of Gars will improve and try them smoked.
