Very refreshing to see spots being shared, tide advice etc, I'm from Cornwall and have never caught a Ray or a Smooth Hound so I'll be giving these marks ago, thanks Ben

Thanks Dave, fingers crossed you will get your ray and hound in ‘24! If you’re around the Newquay area, come into the shop and the lads will tell you where’s fishing well. Should certainly be able to put you on at least one of those species in a month or two 👍

Another excellent video, Ben, you guys at Gwinear could easily give Hollywood a run for their money with your production values!!! Defo gonna pop into the shop in the coming weeks for a chat. We moved down to Scorrier in November 2022 and my angling exploits have been somewhat embarrassing to be fair. Been out on a few occasions with local mates, but it's been hard going. Especially when my limited knowledge has trumped theirs! 🤔Now have most of the gear, with little to no idea! Some sound advice and tactics is what we need, and you, Sir, and the team, are exactly the folk we'd like to ask.

Another really informative and expertly presented video. Could I ask a question? Many years ago back in the 70s I used to fish a legendary rock mark on the north coast near Treyarnon, it used to be know as ray rock for obvious reasons and I think that it was adjacent to Fox Cove. There was a very prominent high isolated rock stack close to the rock ledges from which you fished. As with a lot of the north coast it was potentially very dangerous with any sort of ground swell running but the fishing in the right conditions was wonderful for small eyed ray, bass and loads of specimen plaice in springtime. I have not been back there in many years and was wondering if it is still a worthwhile venue. I did exchange a couple of emails with you when you were posting your gilthead bream fishing videos and this latest Gwinear series is tempting me back to visit in September once the holiday season is over.

Hi David, I know where you mean and the short answer is, yes, it is still a good mark although you will likely find it nowhere near as productive as it used to be, especially for the plaice. It can still be good for ray fishing though so definitely worth revisiting, although like you say, you really need to be careful to get the conditions right. Great to hear that you like the videos and they’re inspiring you to visit! Come and see us in the shop for a chat if you do 😄

I suspect your subscriber count is going to increase exponentially! I really enjoyed this vid, great quality, well presented and as an angler and as others have mentioned it is really informative. On top of the fishing mark advice I particularly liked the tip in relation to car parking. I notice this has had around 2000 views with around 10% of that as subscribers. I’ve mentioned this to other KZbinrs, that I as a 58yr old angler watch content such as this on my smart tv, whilst I know I can subscribe and comment using the remote, I find it easier on my tablet. So, is there any mileage in putting a min at the end of a video on how to subscribe, like and comment using the tv functionality or portable device? Just a thought, I maybe talking rubbish 😂. Anyway, I thought this was great, I will be watching the other content and I do appreciate you putting the time, effort and resources into providing me with some knowledge, hints and tips about fishing in your area. I do intend to make my way to your shop when I’m in the area.

Thank you for the excellent feedback Gary! That’s definitely an interesting point to consider, we certainly would like as many people to subscribe to the channel as possible so the easier we can make that for them the better. Hope you continue enjoying our videos and we look forward to seeing you in the shop sometime 👍

What's the best method for bass off towan head please
@GwinearAngling4 ай бұрын
The short answer is that it depends. Lures can be really effective at certain spots when the weather is calmer but if it is rough then bait is going to be the one. Come into the shop for a chat and we can go into more detail for you 👍
