@@KunioTaki I wasn't surprised that a car could roll on wire wheels, After all, Here in the UK they used to be standard fitment to some sports cars as late as in the 70's. What I WAS surprised about is that wire wheels designed to take the weight of a motorbike could cope with doing a burnout without the spokes heads one by one snapping the off or the threads ripping out of the spoke nipples. This was mainly because I was thinking about the 5 or 600KG pushing down on them, And the hubs having more torque pushed through them than they were ever designed to cope with at the time.

I used to sell miatas. They are a perfect 50/50. while that does technically mean 600 lbs per side, it also means 300 lbs per tire. Right in what what the tire (if it was brand new) is supposed to handle, which really means about 375-450 lbs

Spoke wheels can hold a lot of weight but the side to side force will break them. I had this problem with too much weight on my electric trike video project.

At city driving speeds, this could easily cut a 1/3 of consumption. Remember car tyres used to be that narrow because engines were smaller.

your speedo would be off because the car tires are smaller rim size than the motorcycle ones, therefore, your speedo would be measuring under what youre actually doing. at least thats what ive been told. mainly because larger objects roll faster than smaller ones.

those wheels look retro as hell. like the spoked knock off rims on european roadsters from the 60's and before. it's a cool look. you should get some smaller rims, from a bigger bike with thicker spokes and run them for a while with new tires.

If you go back to the days of the early automobiles, they only had dirt roads - and when it rained those cars seemed to plow on through the ruts and mud. However, I'm sure there was always someone who had a team of horses nearby, that could come drag that old model A out if stuck.🐎🐎
