For almost 20 years now Ive heard how these were junk, junky saws... Mine is 19y/o and now semi retired to around the house work. That little junk saws 1st job out of the box was a 4' base pecan that it cut 5 cords out of and after porting and a carb swap it worked for 2 hrs this afternoon. Yeah, they were cheep. I have a $550 year old Sthil 291 that was given to me because it shelled crank bearings. Which ones junk?

Sounds like the organizers should switch to something like LeMons racing. There's a limit on how much you can spend on your build, and any competitor is allowed to purchase it for a fixed price.
