Tip #1 - Try gear out long before going back to a place, even more so to a place that you're uncomfortable in. Your situational awareness isn't great (which is fine, really) but to rely on brand new gear for your own safety - bad idea. Use heavy duty black string (100-200 metres) very cheap, tie to base of outer trees flanking your camp area, then attach small bells to it at intervals. Tie string 60cm above base of tree/s. This is old school alarm - much better than some of the gear you had gifted to you. The black string is virtually impossible to spot in low light. Tip #2 - Take someone else! This is basic stuff and to guarantee your own safety and to return back to your family, in one piece. Who will your son buy choc treats for? Tip #3 - Never, never, never set up camp to a dark entry/exit to any forest - this provides easy exit for anyone wishing to mess with you. Tip #4 - Do not under any circumstances use white lights/lanterns for nighttime videos - green ones will hide you much better. If you're woken by an event/disturbed - tossing cyalume light sticks in the direction of the issue - will deter them/it 100%. Tip #5 - Do not under any circumstances risk your shit for likes/views on this medium. If you feel pressure to go back to a bad spot - ask your family what they'd do. Tip #6 - Be safe man.

At 20:21, the camera is placed in one position for approx 2 seconds, where at 20:23 it it is picked back up a pans across to the handprint on the tree. You can tell this has happened as the bearing undicator freezes at 214° for the 2 second timeframe, then at 20:23 the background image lighting changes and the bearing indicator jumps to 216° . Id say you placed the camera, went and stood with your hand against the tree for a good few minutes, then returned to the camera to film the result. A bit of editing to cut out the time in between and there you go. Nice effort but not quite good enough mate. 👍

I know many people who have run into them here, and every native tribe here has their stories about them along with naming them. There apparently are a lot of reports of them in the Pendleton Forest. And I think their existence is actually being covered up by our governments. It's why we never see a body. Way too many stories of people being threatened here here for talking about them and having whatever evidence they might have confiscated. Why aren't more people absolutely freaked about the handprints? Forget the howls. Animals make all sorts of noises. Anyone who says "Well, I raised huskies, and they don't sound like that," is kidding themselves. Dogs can be bred with other kinds of dogs resulting in a mutt that can make all sorts of vocalizations. Or yeah, maybe it was the neighbors playing a recording to scare him. But the handprints! How is this not the only thing people are talking about? Either there is some natural process that causes heat to radiate from trees in the shape of human hands, or there was someone very close to your camp messing with you. I'd also like to know what that heat source behind the bush was. That also stood out to me as more important than people seem to think.

That has pretty much disappeared from domesticated canines a very long time ago. Wolves do, it's communication, but dogs don't do that, unless there's a siren going off or such a thing. That sounded 100% like a wolf, and as far as I know, there are no wolves in your area. So that's that. The hand marks are *clearly* hand marks. So, again: WTF?! Thing about Thermal, is although it picks up residual daytime heat very well on rocks and trees, those things are large and retain heat quite well, but a handprint on a tree trunk would "go off" quite quick, yet those parts of the palm on the prints were very hot, showing that whatever or whoever made those prints had extremely warm palms, in the cold of the woods, a handprint vanishes very quickly from a tree, but those palm prints stayed there for quite a while and retained a lot of heat too. I own thermal myself, both in my phone and in a proper thermal spotter, the Pulsar XM30F and I don't believe the prints could have been made by NWC unless he had someone else helping him, and even then the person would have had to either rub his hands together or heat them up somehow to create a print that stayed there for a while, looking so hot. If they didn't create them, then it seems a bit Supernatural to me. With regards to thermal and I've stated this before, sometimes its better to not know what's in the woods around you, than knowing exactly what is in the woods around you. Not much can hide from thermal, it always shows some sort of heat, you'd have to wear top to toe thick clothing to stop every tell-tale point of heat escaping from somewhere and revealing your position, as you saw from the mouse, it sticks out like a sore thumb and is bright, white hot, against the much colder landscape.

I thought so too, coming through speakers, the first 2 were identical calls so probably the same recording twice, then after it sounded like someone mimicking it and finishing early. I also thought that probably the OP leaned against the tree while getting into the hammock ready to film, and simply didn't realise those were his own hand marks. It seems a weird placement for someone creeping up on you.

As someone who has spent a lot of time in the wilderness my initial reaction to spotting two fresh handprints on a large tree trunk would have been to illuminate that specific area and investigate...pack up if necessary. As for the noises well that is part and parcel of being alone in a woods or forest,wildlife comes alive at night and our mind tends to run wild and common sense can go out of the window. Now I am not implying this video is a hoax but youtube is littered with this solo camp creepy content which kind of dillutes the essence of what it means to explore the wild alone.

I really don't understand why he didn't turn lights on and see what made those hand prints. I would love to believe him. An watching him he doesn't appear to be that type of person. Then again fear makes you do things differently then you normally would. I can see hand prints making me rethink things. That animal sounds like a wolf coyote type. Hard to know what people have for a pet when all the western countries have let in any vagrant that can walk across the boarder. The howl doesn't bother me as much as seeing a hand print on a tree.

Hmm, I'm a bit skeptical of this video, I was quite convinced with part 1, but now having seen your part two - the "hand prints" any rational person would've got the hell of there after seeing that, unless of course they were your handprints. You also didn't seem too bothered after seeing them. Then you said they weren't there when you panned around the first time, but the screen pauses for a second, then between 20:22 and 20:23 there is a cut in the video, after which you then panned around and they were there. Yeah not convinced... but it was a fun video nonetheless!

Thing with the howling is it got closer, so if being walked by its owner it wouldn’t be howling for him/her (calling to his pack essentially) so perhaps a stray or lost dog? The hand prints are inexplicable though aside from someone sneaking around in the woods in the dark which is rather nefarious. It would be great if you’d go out at a similar temperature and made some yourself. Maybe take note of how long they’d be there to create a glow that bright and long lasting. The second set faded quickly so we’re obviously touching only briefly as not much heat residue behind. There is no bioluminescent fungi or whatever that would leave such an obvious hand print like that. I think decomposition might generate a bit of warmth on the ground but nothing I can think of would leave a perfect hand print except a dodgy person. I hope you have the means to defend yourself if you go back on your own (not sure if tasers are legal in the UK or would work through winter layers or not) or take a buddy along to see if you can simulate what was seen. That warmth behind the bush would perhaps be someone hiding behind there crouched down but didn’t seem intense enough. Certainly super interesting. I went camping in remote Colorado mountains and something BIG was walking around our site. We had our stuff up in a tree in a bear bag. The breathing sounded like a bear but I could have sworn at the time it was the human step pattern. It was so cold my water bottle froze solid overnight and I was so cold I really wasn’t moving, no matter how curious I was to see a bear for myself or whatever it was. Regret it now. Camping is simply amazing. But we had bear spray and a firearm as grizzlies about, not really anything self defence wise like that here.

With how cold the weather is (you can see his breath which means it is below freezing) I highly doubt the hand prints were made naturally. Your hands are the first ones to get colder since your body is trying to keep its warmth. Unless the person is wearing gloves or putting them in their pockets the hand print would not have been that strong and lasted for that long. So this means that the person who done it knows you have the heat cam and just wanted to do that instead of the stick/rock throwing last time. To be honest, and this is coming from someone who hikes and is a Pagan, I believe this was staged sadly. I want to believe you, but there really isn't enough evidence that says it wasn't staged.

Fair comment. I know it wasn't which the main thing
@activekernel10 ай бұрын
Exactly, and since those points aren’t even being addressed at all (neither in the video, nor in the response above) it speaks for itself. No investigation, no nothing… just the “shock-value” of “oh sh**, look, handprints”… no serious person would react like that in this setting and then do nothing, at least not in my estimation. Seeing these types of strange, prolonged handprints in this context/environment/weather would at least warrant some type of direct investigation. Someone (or something) is supposedly walking around in your camp and directly messing with you, and you don’t care to address the situation and see if you’re in any danger? Or even just find out if it’s actually handprints or maybe something else? Give me a break. Why didn’t you even switch thermal-modes to double check? Instead you pretend something was moving behind the tree… I mean, as the first commenter pointed out, there’s no way normal handprints would last that long and be so extremely pronounced. Btw, in the part of the video where you show yourself in thermal, one can clearly see that even your own hands and especially fingers are A LOT darker and rather gray, again indicating hand-temperature. Now compare that to the bright-white hand prints on the trees. If anything, and if this was not staged, you should have been freaked out by this a lot more than by anything you experienced on your last visit there, since you (presumably) had direct “evidence” of someone (or something) being in your camp. I also like how there are convenient jump-cuts every time you discovers those handprints, most people probably didn’t even notice the second cut there, but it’s pretty clear you put the camera down, then did something, then after the cut picked up the camera again showing the same framed-area, and then panned around again to conveniently “find” another hand print - its the same frame & background, but the lighting of the environment completely changes from one second to the next, indicating a cut (opposed to a simple “jump” of the camera while moving it around). And the hands are not even the only thing that struck me as fake, other people already pointed out how weirdly identical the howls sounded. Just wanted to point out some more details regarding the handprints. But anyway, I’m also not here to pretend the ethereal does not exist, it does. All that said, you seem like a chill guy, however this make-belief, dumbed-down silliness which is making the rounds everywhere is grinding my gears. You do you, as they say, people it eat up anyway.
@NoviceWildCamper10 ай бұрын
So, to address the first point about doing nothing after seeing the hand prints. I clearly noted that I had spent a considerable time, totalling around two hours actually, sitting, freezing in the dark using the thermal image camera checking the entire area before retiring to bed. Second point about edits or jumps. There are many cuts in the video due to the length of it and the amount of filming I had been doing however I know the section you are talking about where it changes before the second hand print as i noticed this on edit too and wondered why. If you watch the 'finger tap' marks where I am screen recording you can clearly see one where I accidentally tap and change the thermal setting. This is why it changes the colour/style of the image and not due to a cut. There are three versions of the white hot on the camera and I had inadvertently changed it. Plus, having to use a tripod that it's quite stiff, to pan around, it jumps and you van hear the noises it's making, and also makes it look like cuts where there are none. I never realised it would do thus until I filmed with it as I have always used the tripod for static filming. If I was doing something like dubbing dog noises, I would most certainly have used different ones so cannot comment on the similarity between the first two but the third was distinctly different. Hopefully that helps toward it. 👍

100% noticed straight away that the first two howls were identical and the third completely different. I can definitely see why people might think you've hoaxed this but i wouldn't go accusing til i'd stayed there myself. To me the place gives off the vibe of having some weird local person who does not want you there. They probably work through the night too, there's a metal plant near my house and the noises of clanging bars run through the whole estate. I cant comment on the hand prints cus i dont know what that technology would pick up. They were quite prominent prints like. Anyway, enjoyed the video and if i lived in England I'd offer to go along for camp 3.

Thanks buddy. Its hard sometimes to do thesenl videos as stuff happens and you think, no one will believe it and think you're faking it so should I put it out or not. There's always some whodunit believe anything but I always say you have to be there to really experience what it's like. Atb 👍

Camper vibe did a video she found a nice woods and planned to stay a couple of days and get some decent photos - she lasted one night, from inside her hammock she recorded all sorts of noises including human footsteps right outside and something touching the hamkock. Turns out its known as the most haunted woods in England. She didnt know that when she went - I wonder if its the same place?

There's a few like that. Doint this is the same woods as it'd small and in thr middle of nowhere but I've had a couple of wierd experiences in other woods. Cannock chase was one. Mat be where she went.

@@NoviceWildCamper i live near the chase. There were young girls murdered over there years ago so I wouldn't be surprised if it's haunted.

I have a few questions. Cant remember if it was the first video or this one. You made the remark it stinks can you describe the smell? Also is this the only place these weird happenings occur? Or have weird things started happening since like items not where you know you left them? or they arent there then they are after you give up looking?

The smell was like dead rotting bodies. I remember when I was young digging in the garden once and I burst open a sealed ice cream tub. The stench that came out nearly made me sick. It was a dead guinea pig that had been buried but only decomposed inside the tub as it was airtight. I've had a couple of wierd experiences elsewhere but nothing like this. Only footsteps around my hammock and once the sound of a big cat close to the tent. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYiVYWOwh7Gkrrcsi=6JRanShBlcd0-rzj
