The problem with those clips is that it is extremly slow and tedious to close. Opening it is also pretty slow when you are in the middle of a battle.

To get rid of Velcro noise I use magnets. Use a seam ripper to open up one loop side and sew a high power magnet inside. Do the same on the other side but replace the hook velcro strip with another loop piece. It's pretty easy to sew by hand on most pouches, As long as you take care to align the magnets as best you can, it works pretty well!
@ReformedThe7 жыл бұрын
You can fix the velcro spund quite easily. Just get some decent magnets. And sew them into your pouchs. And make sure you have like a velvet or just a kinda thick piece cover both sides of the magnet so when you close up your pouch it doesnt slam shut brealing your magnet or letting people know of your position. Opening and closing your pouches would be easier. Hope this made sense. And hope you read this and be like holy crap i should try this. Up to you. Just thought id eliminate that velcro. I dislike velcro. You dont have to use thick magnets. I was thinking more like those wallets that are held close by those thin yet decent magnets.

some fabric over the magnets to muffle the sound
@davevd99446 жыл бұрын
Agreed the fabric solves it but a magnet hitting a magnet produces far less sound then a big ass piece of new velcro.
@kyechilds71287 жыл бұрын
One trick what I was taught by an Australian Defence Force member is that you burn the velcro so it stops sealing using the velcro. Stops the sound but I only recommend this if you have another way to lock the pouch shut.

Christoph, I enjoyed watching this video on your gear. You asked for input. if there was a way, if you chose to, to add one or two pouches to your left side suspender strap (non-firing side), then that could be a space for additional gear. For pouch retention, rather than velcro, what about 'fastex' brand buckles? Opening them is a quiet...I think. Elbow pads integrated into the top maybe. I sewed some into the top I created. I did the same to the knees. My ghille had no knee pad pockets so I sewed some knee pad pockets there and used some foam inserts. Then I used velcro to close those pockets. To ensure my trousers would stay up, I sewed on a pair of Vietnam-era US Army LBV suspenders after removing the hooks at the bottom of the suspenders onto the waist of my pants. I also sewed in several more belt loops as well. Your system looks just fine.

I would suggest adding on a radio. A Kenwood TK 378 is a good choice. The keypad can be locked out so one does not have to worry about inadvertently switching channels.The battery lasts a long time, it is an older radio with a metal frame so it can take a little bit of abuse and it has good sensitivity.

I think that you could put a mini dump pouch instead of universal pouch, to protect pistol mags from getting dirt and sand inside them. I had this situation when I was fast reloading and I dumped my pistol mag on the ground, when I picked it up it was all in dirt, so I couldn't use it anymore in games and I had to clean it all. With dump pouch in a back, but a little bit to the right, my pistol mags are secured, GG valves won't break, etc, and the reloads are still very quick.

Tuck the velcro flap into the pouch and place the smoke grenade in. It should hold it stiff enough if it's a newer pouch, works with double stack velcro 556 mags, so it should work with any velcro flap pouch with elastic bands.
