Unfortunately the pin attaching the lever to the receiver was seized, couldn't get it out, so had to send it to the gunsmith. Appreciate the video anyway mate, it's super helpful

First shot my levtac soon as I got it. It worked ok. Kinda felt gritty and was full of what looked like used motor oil that smelled like a horse stable. Took it all apart , brake cleaned then coated everything with barricade. Can't wait to get it back together with help from this video. Great work and much appreciated.

The "horse stable" is the landolin based rust inhibitor used to keep it from rusting in a warehouse.

Ok so this video and the series is the best video I found on KZbin for this rifle so thank you for that. That aside I ending up taking a trip to the LGS because I put the main level pin back in and it didn't cycle at all. In the video you said "if you don't get this pin right.....looks like I got it first time". If you don't get this pin right....... what? I needed that sentence to finish lol. Anyway the LGS KZbind some other video and they said it needs to be centered or the gun will lock up. Just for anyone wondering or maybe if you want to reupload it with a note. Again really liked series other than that.

Hi, I love your videos, what you do is great. I have a question, do you have any trick to tighten the Spring Cover Screw? I have a big problem with reinstalling the Spring Cover. I just can't screw this screw in for anything.

Im assuming you mean the loading gate. If so you need to get somthing down into the reciver to apply outward pressure. if your fingers wont fit, then a nylon prybar (used for automotive trim) will work well without damaging anything

Would really appreciate a Video showing how you lightened the Ejector spring and how you you adjusted the loading gate

So, it dificult to explain to explain this. dont ever cut springs and stretch them out, unless your "Bubba The Gunsmith". replacing the spring is easiet. but if you have time and patience and a benchtop belt sander (and appropriate belt) you can put the spring through a small bolt or i use brazing rod, and run it at an angle against the belt. spring tension is determined mostly by the thickness of the material. i may do a video on this in the future. as for the loading gate, because its a leaf spring, i have adjusted the angle (bending it), but be very carefull, you can go too far and have it snap.

Can you please do a cleaning video mate? I've ordered this in . 357 but never owned a leaver action so cleaning is new to me. Cheers

I may do one in the furture. For now, when you get it stripp it down and clean all the factory debris & oil out. Light lubrication of the rails and piviots & put it back together. Beyond that I only clean the bolt face & chamber regularly & and light oil as above. I only do a full clean (barrel included) when accuracy degrades

At 6:03 there was an issue getting the lever pin back in, there was a cut, and then you were able to slide it back in easily. I have the same issue, cannt get that pin back in. I've taken it apart and re-tried a number of times, it will not go in. How did you get past that?
@pyrate_nz

if you over drive it (or under) it will bind inside the action, just tap it in slowly checking if it operates correctly

Love the series on the levtac! I just picked mine up and have a bunch of parts to install. Have you any thoughts on the ranger point precision offerings for this model? I like to tinker so I basically got everything.. handguard, trigger kit, follower, muzzle brake, Takedown screw, and quiver. Going to immediately do the loading gate file/polish and fill the stock with foam. Then install Bradley cheek rest, angled foregrip and red dot. Thanks for the inspiration and informative videos!

what is the make shift paperclip/nail falls out while assembling? Whats the easiest way to put the hammer spring back on?
@pyrate_nz
@pyrate_nz 7 ай бұрын
its not going to be fun, especially if its the full stregth spring. A spring compression toll is the correct answer. if you dont have acess to one, then clampt the hammer in a vise etc and make a slot in a flat peice of steel or similar, compress the spring and insert a nail in the hole, slide the steel out. wear safety glasses!

Great video. Have you replaced any of the springs? I’ve heard that it makes a world of difference in the rossi92 so I would imagine it would for the levtac as well.

the action is pretty slick out of the box on mine. i have lightened the ejector spring, but the rest are factory. i only did the ejector so i had a chance to recover my brass. i have also adjusted the loading gate (leaf spring) to make loading a bit easier.
@billyhenard1473

@@pyrate_nz How did you lighten the ejector spring,cut existing Ejector spring or use a different spring? How did you adjust the Loading gate tension,did you bend the loading gate or thin the loading gate?

Can you go into depth at all on how to put it back together without a dummy round? Or can I somehow use a live round with the safety on? I don't have a dummy round and I already took it apart lol
@pyrate_nz
@pyrate_nz Жыл бұрын
I would avoid a live round. You will probably know a reloader that has an inertia hammer, at least get the powder out. Other than that you cound make a small pin to captivate the ejector while you insert the bolt, then when the bolt is closed drift it out, install the lever and put the real pin in. You will need to keep foward pressure on the bolt the whole time cause the ejector spring is under tension.

@@pyrate_nz I ended up folding the prong of a fork and using that to keep the spring inside as I slid it forward.
