I started playing Project Reality in it's early stages when I was around 12/13 years old. I'm now 33 and still occasionally go back to it. Battlefield 2 was the single greatest MP game ever made, the modding community was incredible. I'm not even joking. It was peak multiplayer fps. We had so many total conversion mods it's insane. The devs behind Squad seem to have forgotten their roots.

Is there anyone still actually playing it? I remember trying PR 1-2 years ago. It was just... 1 populated server. And it wasn't even full. It was also a mess. Everyone running around doing whatever they wanted. Some kid in a tank bragging about his kills at the end of a match.

@@Blitzkrieg1605 Yeah there's still people playing. Squad devs pissed a lot of people off with the infantry update and I think a lot of players went back to PR. There's a lot of active servers.

That's what I've been saying and it's mostly known by now that BF2 is the PEAK. From the mods, communities and everything, I still come back to it 15 years later, every month or so.

I remember when I was 15, my brother asked me "do you like realism" and I was like "yeah I like good graphics" and he was like "no, actual realism" and then he showed me PR. I was blown away. He first made me read the huge manual that kept me occupied for an entire afternoon, and when I finally joined a match that afternoon, I was shaking, but I had so much fun.. almost 10 years later now, I really have to play this again.

Krivaja Valley is awesome. I think, if PR devs focused more on Cold War era battles(even fictional), factions, equipment and so on, - it would breathe a new life into PR. Not so many massive multiplayer shooters with that atmosphere, you know? WW2, Modern Warfare, but not from that time, when AK-74 just came out from the factories. So, I think, it would be interesting for people. Especially, when you consider that ArmA Reforger gained popularity, and things like Afterconflict are nowhere near completion.

I dont think that works that way. Performance is based on how many polygons need to be rendered by the computer. More trees...more polygons. Grouping it all together will make it 1 entity, but not less poly. Grouping *may* decrease loading times, but not gain FPS.

I just wanna tell you some secret tip if nobody said it before. You can tell the Soviets and Germans apart the best if you look at the helmet. The more light green one which looks like a turtle is Soviet and the more cooking pot looking one is German, if that makes sense.

I had recently installed the game last week, it's a fantastic game, and I had lots of fun learning the game mechanics but my only problem is that my PING is very high because I live in the Philippines where it averages from 300-500ms which is unplayable and there are only a few available servers on Multiplayer and one o CO-OP.

The Gelballte Ladung IRL was a bunch of stick grenades taped together and meant to be a makeshift anti-tank grenade. I'm not sure why PR decided to make it a WW2 "C4".

you can use it against tanks... there are 2 types of geballte ladung ingame, this box is the 3kg version, the other is multiple normal grenades strapped togheter. both can be used against tanks.
