Just a suggestion. Have you looked into a gas/propane fireplace for heat? Easy to install. No ventilation required. Put it where the hutch is on the wall facing the hall. I guarantee it will heat your home cheaper than the infared heaters. We have 2 that heats our two story 3500 sq ft home.

To save money on hot water be sure to get a hot water blanket and the pipe wrap. I was surprised at how much that saves as well as turning it down. Why add so much cold water to the shower when you can turn down the water heater. Its worked for us. Electric blankets and throws have been a God send. Blessings

I saw your camera flash on hot dogs. 1. I divide a package in fourths, so 4 meals. I cut them in half lengthwise and wrap the halves in homemade bread dough . So two hot dogs becomes four. Rise and bake. I use the rest of the dough to make sandwich buns and dinner rolls. One wrapped hot dog and a cup of chili makes a good meal. Also, I only buy them on sale.

Great video❤❤❤ Reverse osmosis, ion exchange, and distillation is only way I know of to remove nitrates. Boiling water doesn't work. Water evaporates so nitrates levels get higher. I'm sorry to say Tessie, Berkey water filter does not do the good job they claim it does. I wish I could hop over and replumb your house and rerun electrical lines. I'm good at that if I don't say so myself. You have such a beautiful family❤❤❤

Zero Water filters remove what the Berkey won't. You need both. Run it through the Zero Water filter first.

Have you ever check your grocery stores for water in bulk? Our stores have where you bring in your own jugs and fill them from their fountain, its natural spring water ad cost was .52 a gallon sometimes with a coupon .29. We use to have a natural spring water fountain in our of our parks and use to fill up jugs for free. Our city decided to take it out, people were really upset. Love your videos! Berkey filters still will not remove nitrates, but nitrates can be removed from water by reverse osmosis like the SimPure countertop reverse osmosis dispenser. Nitrates are bad which is why when we used to buy hotdogs or bacon we always looked for nitrate free.

I believe Nitrates are only bad if you have a baby under a year old. I remember this from my job that I worked for 43 years and did a lot of questioning with the Wisconsin dept. of hygiene.

Hi Tessie! My brother just had his mobile home plumbed in Pex pipe with shark bites. He is disabled and not able to crawl underneath to fix them anymore. Last winter everyone’s water lines froze and busted. This new line is supposed to not freeze up. Have a blessed day!

For drinking water, we use the coin-operated vending machines outside our supermarket, Yoder's. We bring our own clean gallon jugs and it costs 25¢ each. The machines also accommodates 5-gallon jugs. The water is processed via reverse-osmosis, which is said to reduce the nitrate AND nitrite by 60 - 80%. We love it. Hope you can find similar dispensers in your area.

I’m a day late, but I wanted to share that we are doing good too. $76 this week. $155 last week. I am pretty happy about this. The first week was high cause we had to fill the car with gas. Boiling water will not take out the nitrate the only way to do that is reverse osmosis you can hook it in your mechanical room or under a kitchen faucet that is designated drinking water

In my neighborhood we have an ice house/water bottle refiller. Its $1.00 for 5 gallons. We bought a $7 rechargeable pump from Amazon to put on the 5 gal jugs. It is great and very handy! We also took it when we went camping and it made life so nice

So Tessie I'm assuming you have a well? If you didn't then the city you live in would have to take care of the nitrates in your water. You didn't say what your nitrate level was but anything less than 10 is safe. (I think it's ppm.) Nitrates mostly affect pregnant mothers, infants. Nitrates also change. I live in the country and am on a well. We didn't have nitrates the last time we tested but it sometimes comes from the things that are sprayed on the fields around us. It also comes from manure on the ground. You really should know your level. Sometimes a county will do a free test. Your nitrate level can change.

I have always washed shower curtain liners. Once they get in rough shape, my husband takes them to keep in his mobile repair truck to lay on the ground when it's wet or muddy where he has to do a repair.

Years ago we had a top of the line pellet stove in our former Massachusetts house….I had asthma (pretty well controlled, no attacks) but after some time around the stove I felt in a pre-asthma attack zone (wheezing/ coughing/short of breath). We got rid of the stove even though my husband loved it, bless his heart. Asthma went back to normal.

Hey Tessie, just wanted to share. I read that the only things that removes nitrates from water is by using an ion exchange resin. No Berkey, Brita, or any of those types, will filter out the nitrates, unfortunately. I don't understand the whole process, but it seems it does good things for the water (ion exchange resin). Do your daughters have nitrate free water? Could you get a few 5 or more gallon containers where they each bring an empty home and when they come for their meal, they bring fresh cooking and drinking water? We lived in a high nitrate area but thankfully our well was clear of that. But we were just over the limit for arsenic which was used in pesticides at one time. We put in reverse osmoses which took that out.

Hi Tessie. Have you checked with Berkey to see if they offer filters that will take out the nitrates? Just a thought. Also, our supermarket does all their markdowns during a set timeframe. There's always great deals if you get to them first. Double markdowns are the best! (ie...today there were Smithfield seasoned pork tenderloins marked from $10 down to $2.50)

You heat your house like I do.. Infrared heaters. A regular heater under the house and heat tape on pipes, if the weather gets really down. Electric blanket, so hopefully won't freeze. Hopefully you will be successful getting your heating oil:)

I have the same forced hot water heating system so I understand what you're saying, and also have been washing my shower curtain liner in the machine for the past couple of years. Why not? That's less plastic in the landfill too. I hang it back up in the shower to air dry - just need to put it in something so it doesn't drip all over the floor on the way to the bathroom. You could soak it in your tub with vinegar & baking soda! I am allergic to bleach, so I have to use vinegar and baking soda! To keep the bottom of it clean, after each shower spray both sides with vinegar!

The best ever thing to serve with meatballs is: LINGON BERRY/ COWBERRY JAM...💖🤗 It is truly delicious and serving it with meatballs, boiled potatoes and brown cream sauce/ Rahmsause / Seedish meatball sauce... is "creme de la creme"👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 At home we use a few drops of sauce coloring to make the sauce a little bit more dark brown...... This home cooked Dish is so Delicious that it's worthy of being served at the King's table... Maybe even at the dinner at the Nobel Prize Ball. You will not be disappointed when you will try it.💖🙂🤗 By the way, Lingon berries is a good ingrediens in a lot of dishes. Hey Tessie, you are doing so good on your 100 dollar challenge. I'm doing the spend zero challenge (after most of the main bills are paid) and I'm not having much fun yet😂. I will get used to it after awhile. This video has lots of good information in it and I do was my shower liners until they start to rip then i will replace them. On the water... My son has a water pitcher with a filter in it so i fill my water bottles up when I'm at his house. Maybe you could do a review on one of the water filter companies and get one and ask for some extra filters. It would be cheaper when you do need a filter later. I messed myself up bad when i did not replace my refrige filter and now i don't know when I will get to replace it so I don't know yet what to do about drinking water when mt son moves. I may just beg him for his water pitcher as a going away gift for me lol... Yep that is what i will do😅 have a good evening tonight and I will see you tomorrow night unless I come back and watch somemore videos tonight...and I might just do that😊 💙🙏

Great savings this week Tessie! I remember the oil heat up north. Very expensive to fill those tanks. I hope things will get better for y'all. We found our well switch was not strong enough for water pressure. We bought a better grade switch. But winter months we have to run a light in the well house, to keep the switch from freezing up.

I love this $ challenge..you inspired me so I have done the same! It is definitely a challenge and some weeks I’ve gone over due to car gas but it has been great eating out of my pantry and spending less at Grocery store. Aldi and Trader joe’s has helped me rather than straight up local grocer. And splitting a single serving between two as you had shown in one of your videos really does help!
