The arm upgrade is actually better in the demake. It always upgraded your base shot to the level 1 charge and gave the laser, but the laser used to also lock you in place for its entire duration so I'd never use it. Being able to fire it off and keep moving is awesome!

Good attempts my dude. There are 3 secret bosses in total, you unlock the area by S ranking all 3 parts in one shot (don't worry, after you do it, you never have to do it again). You get one boss just by getting through it, 2nd one is by getting 100% items which you have, so you'll have access to 2 secret bosses. To activate 3rd secret boss, you have to deactivate ALL your upgrades, this includes sub-tanks and hearts.

1. Demake has *multiple* hidden bosses 😁 2. Infinite weapon energy, as cool it is, and even without charged shots, is kinda busted... Makes weapon energy totally redundant. I wish was half cost instead, and maybe infinite be a new game+ thing.

Triple shot is the best for trying to a rank it it covers a lot of the screen and allows you to get the angle on enemies in weirder locations

I searched here, and found somethings 1- you cant die, must be 1 run 2- the teleport will appear down a hole in the end, not in the lock door 3- just a fast charge buster H and you will be fast enouth and hardly hit

@@KairuHakubi the locked door up ahead leads to Optic Sunflower like normal. to reach the secret bosses, you'll instead drop down the hole at the end, and move left, if you got all S Ranks in one run, they'll be open for good... and a teleport activates at the level start to fast track you to the secret bosses.

Just use the homing weapon. You can just spam shots and focus on movement. Really simple.

Yeah his obsession with the fire dash is what screwed him the most here. Sure it's fast but it is way too dangerous to use and not nearly precise enough.

Yeah, by the end, he was wasting so much time trying to get over to enemies to kill them with the fire dash in the "rising and falling platforms" section when he probably should have just been using the blaster for those enemies given all the obstacles in the way, especially when he kept going backwards to try and get the one with the dash. And yeah, it seemed to leave him at risk of getting hit way too much.

@@R0D3R1CKV10L3NC3 Yeah the risk is too big here, you have to get into enemies faces without any invulnerability so if they shoot in any aimed direction rather than just straight ahead you get screwed. As we have seen multiple times here. Still a really fun watch though, this game is great.

I don't think he's capable of thinking critically enough to try a different approach. From what we've seen, the lightning shot seems to be perfect given how it homes in and is also really fast.

@@solidsneaks6656 I do think he is capable of it, just wasn't in that moment. He was hyper-focused on what he thought was the "right" way to do it because fire dash is so fast and he's convinced it's purely a "speed run" section, rather than "perfect run" section. The fire dash obviously is useful for parts of that section and probably the best thing to use for speed, but those couple of enemies in awkward spots really should be handled with something else instead.

He has an arsenal of powerful ranged weapons that can clear the screen ahead of him but decides to run back through moving platforms and head butt the dude shooting at him. Peak Jerd. I hope he doesn't switch to a reasonable strat. I want to see him beat it the Jerd way.

The ice and bouncy ball attacks seems like it allow you to keep moving and killing things since they are spreadshots

X4 off the top of my head also gives you infinite normal-shots with the powers once you get an upgrade - I believe the helmet. I've always personally been a fan of this especially as a kid. I'd tend to hoard all my powers exclusively for puzzles and boss fights and it's just way more fun to use them throughout stages and makes X feel more powerful as he armors up.

X4 also had the infinite special weapon upgrade (although in that, it was from the helmet). But in that game it worked a lot better, because the special weapons weren't as ridiculously powerful. They were still good weapons, but much more situational. Also, what's the point of that puzzle in the Man-O-War stage, right before the door? There's so many steps to get the bike up those platforms, just to not only have an immediate door that the bike can't pass through, but there's also a bike respawn point right at the top of those platforms anyway. So even if that door wasn't there, there would still be no reason to bother with the puzzle, because you can just get your bike back immediately past said puzzle.

X2 and X3 are going to be the closest experience. X4-6 are all good but the gameplay is a significant change. X7+8... exist. Honestly this is a better way to experience X8, and X7 is best avoided except for people who really want to experience every game.

8 seconds left of the time trial... that's 100% unrelated to the S rank. basically in that first section, if you get hit once you need to finish with 9 seconds left or more, if you don't get hit at all you can take all the time I think.

I disagree with the infinite special weapons opinion. I think it's Great that it made special weapons free to use because, think back to the other games. You get the special attacks from the bosses but most people rarely ever use them in the levels because either they run out too fast or you need to save them for the boss fight, as a result you get these cool awesome attacks that you... never use unless you use them to cheese bosses. Feels better this way, not like megaman is supposed to be a super hardcore difficult game, not the stages at least, maybe the bosses.

Especially since the actual X8 had a secret boss, and I would want to know if said secret boss reappears in this version somehow, despite the original method of accessing that boss being impossible in the demake. And one of the things to try would obviously be getting all S-Ranks in this stage.

@@gurvmlk It's got 3, all found at the end of Optic Sunflower stage after meeting various requirements. One of them involves unequipping all upgrades, heart tanks and sub tanks... unsure if you need to complete the whole stage like that though (once you unlock one of the secret bosses you'll realize what I mean by this last part).
