Throwbarb is insanely strong, I have a pretty nicely geared one in SP (eth lacerator does a lot of work) faith on the merc is nutty, throw barb gets sooo much AR compared to other barb builds (especially if you go for like a 70/30 split on dex to vit) clears players 8 and everything. Wish more people would give it a shot

The biggest thing that turns most people off of it is that without war shrike and lacerator is only ok and on top of that barb is the worst leveling character in the game by far. Don't get me wrong I love barb but I'm just being realistic as to why people don't play it as much. When people do pick barb it is almost always to make a pitzerker or a pvp build, nothing wrong with either of those things it's just unfortunately the barb is the most hamstrung by needing the right gear.

When using dual Lacerator you got a higher chance of Amplify Damage and you can combine this with Axe Mastery + Throwing Mastery because Lacerator profits from Axe Mastery as well. Which counts to Whirlwind. Is one of my favourite builds in D2R.

If your chucking lacerators into a pack of monsters you’re very likely going to Proc though. So that might only benefit against bosses which is what Death is for. And the Warshrike is for more consistent double damage which also stacks after said Amp Proc. Plus double lacerator doesn’t have extra pierce which is a problem. I found a sick throw spear that I stopped using because it didn’t Pierce as often. But yea if you’re just chuckin Knucks against Ubers from afar until amp procs and then Whirling on top of them after then double Lacerator might be the way to go

the fire I once had for d2 has embered. I used to play this game 12-20 hours a day for months/years. I tried it again for D2R and it was fun. I got a 95 hammerdin and a few 80+'s then just got bored. I enjoy your videos. It reminds me of the good ol days even though I am not longer there.

I've mained a double throw barbarian since the original D2 released. In those days there were several glitches that made this build so broken. 1 of them, I'm happy to see that you noticed. The short ranged weapon matches the range of the longer range weapon. This was 10x more powerful when you consider that attack speed use to have a similar glitch. Double throw would use the attack speed of the most recently equipped weapon, meaning your sluggish offhand would throw at the speed of your main hand. In those days, wraith flight was far superior to lacerator. When D2R first released, this bug was still present, but they they soon after patched it, which broke my heart. There also use to be a glitch that would cause an equipped item to be invisible to other players if it was being held on by the bonus stats of another equipped item. This meant that your throwing weapons could be invisible, and this includes the the projectiles when thrown. This also caused your character to go invisible the moment you throw it, so with enough ias, you were essentially and invisible machine gun throwing firing invisible projectiles off the screen in pvp. What a time to be alive! I have to ask, what belt were you using. You didn't show it. Razortail use to be the go-to before they added piercing to barb throwing via the mastery tree. I imagine dungos might be the best now, but who knows. Also, where the heck is your fortitude? Enigma might be better if your just doing certain runs, but overall, fortitude is critical for double throw barbs. LoH are good but I always preferred steelrends. This was when big hitting offhands were supreme and crushing blow was less accessible though, so I'm certain this has changed. Great video. I wouldn't say no one has cracked this build before though. I cracked it long ago.

He does show that he is using Arachnid's Mesh. I have a similar build that is using Nosferatu's Coil with Hustle armour to get 7 frames since my Faith only rolled a lvl 12 Fanat, and that extra 7% life leach gives great survivability. I'm still lacking an eth Warshrike though, but it still shreds with a non-eth one. I also didn't put any points into war cries because I run 4 accounts at once and one of them is always a barb with max Battle Command, Battle Orders, and Shout. Those extra points went into Axe mastery and Blade mastery.

i did an eboted and death frenzy buff, ww barb. and atma's scarab for the procs. it was insanely good. i used fort, and a teleport amulet for getting around on swap for atmas. probably the same on the rest of the gear. absolutely loved it, was lvl 90, hc, could do ubers and everything, yeah, its expensive but the concept and functionality of it, is not. lvl 7 frenzy can give u 119% increase movement speed and 27%? attack speed, and when u pair that with ww, monsters can't even hit u because u move so fast. had lvl 17 stamina, so got a long buff from frenzy. and u just frenzy, proc and ww. insanely good. amp damage is the absolute savior of physical damage builds in d2r.

Thing that strikes me with all these 'hey look what I discovered' build vids on KZbin is that almost any build can look OK when completely padded with bis gear in all slots. Immediately new this was gonna be an left wielded eth warshrike+right wielded eth lacerator build. Be careful with the quantity though. Perhaps even keep spare ones in the stash. Once you run out of quantity, they will break and as an eth item say goodbye. One of my all time fav builds. Surprised that most people doesn't even understand the importance of crushing blow and attack speed combination makes the best in this 2 and a half decade old cult of a game.

I used to do mid-level pvp with a throw barb back in the day. People would get confused because it would require getting a few melee hits on them or hitting enemies to get some speedup then they get ranged by throwing. But at higher levels they couldn't compete.

I love my current throw barb. I don't think he's been optimized like this, but he's super fun. And yes, surprisingly strong. I never thought about arachnid+circlet or switching with death and lacerator before! I maxed out dexterity instead of vitality for more damage. I still prefer ww barb personally, but it's great to going throw from time to time. I'd love to see if anybody can make a singer really good too.

grief is annoying on an axe for pve and ever since the attack speed changes lacerator is pretty much the best axe offhand with death (the main reason to go axe).

Lemme answer myself here for more background/options. I didn't want to do the usual WW, Frenzy or Berserker build, so i tried making double swing work with solo self found. This works up into the first few levels of Act 1 in Hell, but then it's lacking..hard! I have a lot of the usual set and basic runewords and runes, but i din't find anything specifically useful to power up my Double Swing guy..I did find a Zod rune however and decided to put that in a Breath of the Dying bow: i already had an Act 1 merc, so i could slap that on her, but that hardly replaces the Faith one you got here, right? Not interested in MF, or PVP, so is there a chance i could make this into a double throw instead? I did find that Deathbit 🤣

Hi guys. Trying the throwing weapon barb, seems fun so far. Few questions: 1. Does CB works on throwing weapons (Warshrike and Lacerator) and how. Asking to know if CB gloves makes sense on that build. 2. Whats the difference between deadly strike (from weapon, Highlord and Gore) and Crit strike from Throwing mastery? Do they stack? Warshrike piece depends on deadly strike and need to reach 100% Throwing mastery gives now abt 32 % Crit Any thoughts are welcome

1. Yes CB works on range attacks but it’s only half as effective. 2. Deadly strike and critical strike has the same effect but is calculated separately. I think it calculates critical strike first and if it doesn’t crit then it will calculate for deadly strike. Personally I think it’s hard to pass LoH for gloves in PVM, CB is more for bosses but then we can just switch to offhand WW.

Isn't IAS breakpoint actually at 83? Maxroll D2Planner saying so apparently. That would allow to use only one IAS jewel in helm instead of 2. I'm understanding 83 IAS needed with lvl 14-15 Fanat, 86 IAS with lvl 13 Fanat, 89 IAS with lvl 12 Fanat. Am I missing something?

If you are a throw barb.... whirl wind should throw axes at enemys. If your a zerker barb it should do a wave of magic damage. If your a double swing barb WW should hit 2x... if your a frenzy barb it should stack frenzy. 😤 barb go Brrr

Getting a jah and ber in battle net online is actually fairly easy and would only take you a couple of days. Like if you just cube up all your gems and trade them and trade the perfect amys ,rubys and skulls seperately its super easy. 40-45 Pamys is already a Jah rune 12 Pskulls is an ist 15 Pruby is an ist 20-30 pgems is like an ist 40-50 ral runes will get you a ber 20 hel runes is like a ber rune. Like i bet i could trade up to a Jah+Ber in a single day if i really want to put in the effort. Especially since i use the website traderie which is also usefull to check on prices.

You should have built this when metamorphosis had the bug with unlimited buff time. 25skill ias and 20% dr. Cause currently, its very hard to build a fast and strong throw version due to lack of ias and dr%. I d2lod i fix that with valk08 and bug belt.

Ok I made this barb and I think I need some troubleshooting. Or maybe I misunderstood. He said it is for xp but if I try to farm p8 96tz the kill speed is SOOOO slow. I added 5x451 and 3x313. I have 4x 5fhr/3max/20ar the rest I filled with 3/13-14/20s and a single 10/75/32 gc The gear is basically identical. A1 merc with coh cure 15/2 faith 2/20 circ with 9 min damage, 50 mana, and 2x40/15 Highlords Eth shrike Eth lac Ias gloves with 7%cb 2%LL 13 dex 20 life Dual leech ring Arach Rfrost Gores. Lvl 96 6.2k life 3852-5703 2993-6705 Double throw damage on char screen 11.3k AR

Add more points to dexterity til your AR is 20k+ and don't use poison charms for pvm. Max/AR/lifers. End of the day, it's no mosaic sin. But it's the fastest barb for TZs.

@@Coooley just for posterity’s sake, these two fixes drastically improved the barb. Also since I had min damage on my circ my 15/40s were bugged so I swapped to 15ias/15max damage jewels. With all that fixed it’s easy to clear 800-900k xp per botted Baal game. Sometimes over 1.4 mill if it’s a tz with a lot of beetles or shrines. It’s no mosaic but definitely faster leveling than Druid or necro now

Can confirm this build slaps 🤣 Instead of a 2/20/2os circlet I’m running Giant Skull (Cham/IAS jool) with 20/10 blood gloves and a couple of FCR rings. Still hit 40 cast and 7 frames with 20% added CB

@@kushmm4108 you don’t lose 50, the blood gloves (the crafted item not the unique) have IAS (and 10 cb) you’re effectively losing 15 with the helm, and I used an IAS calculator for like a week to confirm the breakpoint. I will say that different calculators have different outputs for some reason but I just went to a few KZbin videos to see which one people were using. If I’m wrong I don’t notice it. And frenzy picks up any slack whenever I need it to Edit: yea the IAS calc I used originally says 55 on gear plus the fanat is enough but I found another that says you need 70 and at least 14 fanat. So 🤷🏻‍♂️. Still slaps

Question: how about using Metamorphosis? It covers your CBF, gives plenty of CB probably 3 BO/Throw Mastery/whatver. Then you get your FCR from arach + 2 rings. Then offhand combo would be Death + Beast. I play single and don't have that kind of tiara. However I just dropped an eth Warshriek AND gambled a 20fcr 3os tiara in the same game. Want to take my barb from 98 to 99 and this is one of the builds I'm eying (other one being double Doom all cold charms/facets cold whirlwind).

Original d2 developer: "you finally understand the barbarian and have now reached peak diablo 2 enlightenment." This sort of reminds me of the leap attack barb i've been experimenting with. I pretty much came to the conclusion that it works great as an opener that you swap with whirlwind, berserk, and grim totem. having a max leap is just dumb in multiplayer as support too.

1.) Doesn't really matter. We only care about the Aura. But Shadow Bow is great for PvP chars so you should make it in that 2.) Max Damage/Attack Rating/Life (Grand Charms are the best and the cheapest)
